Several Democratic House members have seized on the new Rolling Stone magazine article on the Capitol insurrection to call for the expulsion of the pro-Trump hardliners in Congress who were allegedly involved in planning the rallies on Jan. 6 that preceded the deadly attack.

What ever the second step to expel members for sedition should now be taken as they have been identified.
No wonder McCarthy wants some of them back on the committee.
I really hope this is a thoroughly-researched and backed-up article, because if it’s not, it’s going to have massive blowback and harm the whole investigation.
The calls came after two unnamed organizers of the pro-Trump rallies on Jan. 6 told the Rolling Stone that they had had “dozens” of meetings with multiple members of Congress or their staffers to plan the events.
That’s nice, but did they tell the FBI or the Select Committee under oath? I’m a gonna sit a spell on this one.
If Qevin McArthy becomes speaker this cohort will be his leadership team.

The second step should be finding evidence and proving the allegations from two anonymous sources that led to an article in Rolling Stone.
Finally, we have arrived at the place where the rubber meets the road. We are about to find out whether our current government actually works for us or not. We may be sorely disappointed. Then again…

Apparently this article was written by a TPM alumni. Hopefully, Josh taught him SOMEthing about making sure they had the receipts when they write something.
We all knew in January 2021 that this was an inside job. We do need proof however.
Takes a two thirds floor vote to expel a member, should it come to that. So, all the democrats and about a third of the republicans. Unlikely, but it’s still smart politics to make them play defense and stand by their assholes.
