Plaudits for stating the obvious…I’m glad for this, but you shake your head in dismayed wonder at the same time…

Shitting on the respected, trusted, and thoroughly credible expert in the middle of a disaster that is killing hundreds of thousands of people and has the entire country on edge. That’s some super-duper political acumen right there.

Think about the rethug presidents since Eisenhower:
Nixon. Had to resign.
Ford. An accident of history.
Regan. Iran Contra and so much more. Spent the last couple years in lala land.
Bush I. Free passes for Cap Weinberger and others so they wouldn’t spill the beans.
Bush II. Iraq. Trashed economy. I could go on and on and on…
TRump. The worst president ever.

Yea but will dump be leading them?
probably because he can’t have his ralleys, so this will substitute
Just answered my question
Trump told reporters in the Oval Office he would deliver a briefing at 5 p.m. on Tuesday. It would mark his first time participating in a coronavirus briefing since late April.

I saw a couple days ago they were thinking about this. Presumably they’re thinking hey, back in the beginning of the virus unpleasantness it helped, so obviously it will help again, but this is stupid-head thinking. It will help as much as that interview yesterday helped. What they really have is an objective reality problem. Daily briefings from a crazy person won’t help with that so terribly much.

For the sake of Gov. Hogan’s constituents during these trying and troubling times…I’m glad he has grown some spine and does not seem to fit the mold of the typical Rethug…nor the maggot-brained MAGAs.

Hey Hogan: Maryland is at 13/100K now. Any thought about slowing down the reopening? Or are you too busy promoting your book to care about us Marylanders?

Purely my opinion - but it seemed that he got the most boost when he stood to the side and ate his vegetables … & let the experts speak & acted like a chief executive & not some bragging hollow headed know-it-all at a party.

… but he hates doing that … he hates eating his vegetables

… he wants to fling them across the room and then scream that everybody’s a “POOPY-HEAD” and he is super-stupendous-man with super duper powers an can make things happen at “Maga-Warp-Speed” … you’re never seen anything like it! You watch !

Because that worked out so well for them the first time around.

All of us who said Trump has been AWOL on COVID, should have been careful what we wished for, huh?

The staffers who argued for this are let us say unsophisticated about cause and effect. The country was in a panic, Trump et al. appeared and talked about what they were doing in response, the country was reassured for the moment and his popularity went up. But then as time went on it was apparent he wasn’t really doing anything, he demonstrated his unfitness up there on the podium, and confidence in him plummeted. His old routines don’t work in a real crisis, no matter how much some people want to believe, and imagining they will is stupid, magical thinking.

Best thing he could do for his campaign, and for the country, is to welcome everyone to the briefing, and immediately hand it over to Dr. Fauci.

And yes, I am aware of the otherwise very grave conflict of interest between his campaign and the country.

Well, at least now we know when we’ll start hearing the new magical numbers they’ve been cooking since diverting all reporting away from the CDC.

You do. He doesn’t. So he won’t step aside and let Fauci take the reins. We’re way beyond that now. They’ll do this for three or four days is my prediction.

‘Cecil’ wants Pence to lead these things. A major problem is that he and Birx are tainted.

Randomly pushing and pulling levers is desperation, not effective public policy. Trump is a failure. Trump is a loser. Trump’s dilly dallying causes deaths. Trump needs to be gone STAT!
