It looked to me that the state police REALLY thinks this guy has GOT to go.
I just checked again: TWENTY-SEVEN speeding stops that he used his position to quash tickets. NOW ‘he’ says he suffered enough. HE has suffered enough. How’s about the dead guy who had a leg amputated and his head was sticking thru the windshield?
OH yeah, he noticed nothing.
It’s really fucked up when someone hits someone with their car and their first thought isn’t OMYGOD have I killed someone? Have I hurt someone? No their first thought is: OMYGOD, what will happen to me when this gets found out? My job!
Was I mistaken in reading that he paid a settlement (aka BLOOD MONEY) to Boever’s family for wrongful death? Not that it excuses his behavior in any way, but last I checked civil penalties DO NOT mitigate criminal conduct in this country – at least they used to.
OK, no impeachment; but for the remainder of his term, he has to walk to work, and home again, blindfolded, every day. And if anyone runs his ass down, that person gets a free pass. What’s good for the goose is good for the gander.
This guy is what crawls out and gets power when we are dealing with 20-30% bat shit crazy, filled with hatred group of people out to prove they are somebody special. They have always been amongst us.
Yes, I believe there was an undisclosed settlement with Boever’s family.
You are right that any civil actions should be independent of criminal penalties, but we live in a world where Republicans operate with accountability for thee, but not for me.
I am also skeptical that South Dakota House will actually successfully vote for his impeachment. A special committee already voted against impeaching Ravnsborg. In the GOP’s view, withholding needed funding from Ukraine to get them to ‘investigate’ your political opponent is not impeachable; inciting an insurrection to overturn your lost election is not impeachable; and now negligently killing someone with your car is (likely) not impeachable. They refuse to hold their own accountable regardless of the crime.
Look… enough of the liberal outrage here. I mean, is hit and run really even a crime if you’re a white guy, and a Republican, and the Attorney General of a state?
Do we know anything about the guy who was hit? I’m guessing “he was no angel.”
