South Dakota Attorney General Jason Ravnsborg (R) is staring down the barrel of potential impeachment after fatally hitting a man with his car.
Boy, do these people feel entitled to rule.
âNo biggie, I was only using my cell phone while drivingâ BEFORE I HIT AND KILLED A MAN.
It is painful to realize that I agree with Kristi Noem.
Wow, that picture.
My âpunchable-faceâ meter just pegged.
Fascists fighting each other, interesting: on one side we appear to have the Christo-fascists represented by Noem and Trump-fascists on the other manifested as Ravnsborg: think Iâll ignore this one in future even though the latter fascist clearly needs to be defending his incipient incarceration for negligent manslaughter rather than his privileged position in law enforcement.
Irony is dead and I have far too few f**ks left to give as it is. Whatever
This guyâs morals and values are so fucked if he kills someone and fights tooth and nail to keep from being impeached. HE FUCKING KILLED SOMEONE.
The top Law Enforcement official of the State.
âI killed a man. Eh, no big dealâ
If he doesnât get impeached the entire GOP shows themselves to be soft on crime.
Lock. Him. Up.
1 / Notice how that phrase is painfully selective when the perp isnât a Dem?
2 / Your GQP Family Values in action.
3 / CONUNDRUM: Killing an innocent citizen while you are breaking the law is no big deal. Saving a woman from death due to an ectopic pregnancy is murder.
âWe have gone through the process and the price has been paid,â said Ravnsborg, who was given a plea deal in which he pleaded no contest to two traffic misdemeanors and paid $1,000 in fines plus $3,742 in court fees. The deal came after investigators found that the glasses belonging to the man Ravnsborg hit were in the attorney generalâs car, leading prosecutors to believe the manâs face had gone through the windshield.
The price of a life in South Dakota, according to Ravnsborg.
Ravnsborg went on to warn the lawmakers that their decision âcould overturn an election and set forth a dangerous precedent for all South Dakota elected officials.â
Yes, it sets that âdangerous precedentâ that South Dakota elected officials can be held accountable for their actions.
If shame still existed in the Republican party, this guy would have resigned over a year ago. But they are shameless, so accountability must be forced upon them.
He is up for reelection this year.
Will he run for reelection?
Will any Republican oppose him in the Primary?
How many votes will he receive?
Will SD reelect a murderer?
Not only that he killed someone, he participated in covering up the fact that he killed someone.
So in Texas if someone helps a woman get an abortion they can be sued for $10K, but a state AG that killed a man ends up paying about $4K in fines. Something seems askew here. A clump of cells is worth more than living, breathing, tax payer.
It is so mean that anyone would politicize the âunfortunate circumstances of a man being killed in
a traffic accident.â
The party of personal responsibility strikes again â literally as well as figuratively.
ETA: What. The. Actual. F-U-C-K.
âEvery day I think about Joe Boever, a man I had never met, who changed my life forever.â
I think you changed his life a little, too, dude. What a freaking sociopath.
No it means the right to life is a scam and hoax.
So somehow, white, Christian, male, something, something, this guy thinks driving around with a manâs head stuck in his windshield shouldnât cost him anything. Good lord!
âForget it, Jake. Itâs Chinatown the GOP.â
Besides, Ravnsborg complained, hasnât he been through enough already?
Youâr still alive, ainât you? Unlike the guy who came through your windshield.
I know you claim you thought is was a deer except for the fact that deer stopped wearing glasses years ago.
Why impeach this AG, when our AG in Texas has been AGing under two indictments for about a decade now.
Ethics? We donât need no steenking ethics.
Am I understanding this correctly? He edited his letter but included the blackline showing the edit in the version that he submitted to the legislature?!?!?
When Sturgis is the high point of the South Dakota cultural calendar, this should be fully expected.
Maybe he thought that if Trump could kill someone and his voters wouldnât care, he could get away with it too. Sigh.
Page 1 - âI remained quite (sic)âŚâŚ. to let the legal process play out.â (5th para).
Itâs either âdamn spell checkâ or donât compose and type your own pathetic letters, Jason!
