I don’t know that “elites” are what Vance is comparing his culture of origin to. It seemed much more mainstream to me. On the other hand, gops love to label things what they aren’t.
Vance, IMO, has hopped on the conservative griftmobile. While he may sincerely be a conservative person, that doesn’t explain erasing his tweets about trump. That indicates to me that he had swilled the orange koolaid.

In my former life I dealt with some military public affairs specialists. Didn’t ever believe a word they said without checking against a reputable source.
As a group, they seem to have the ability to convince themselves of whatever bullsh*t they’re selling that day. Because they’re under orders and doing it for the country.
