I’ll be out for a couple of hours – enjoy the day, y’all.
That’s it in a nutshell sir/madame. We have no choice but to largely ignore the naysayers and just get down to informing friends and neighbors that there is no choice but to support and elect Joe Biden as POTUS.
Where’s James Baker when you need him. Sigh.
History and historical events are associated with many contingencies and multifactorial “causes” leading to innumerable possible outcomes from any point in time. I tend to think a true eyeore would always try to evaluate, from among all the parameters (or at least the principal components), the worst possible outcome and always pick that one. On the spectrum of eyeoreism, I don’t think you’re very much on the negative part of the scale, if at all.
Very fine summary. Thanks : - )
Jesus on a Donkey is he yet another GOP pedophile? Certainly not a drag queen.
Members of the NYT’s staff have said the reason for the “he’s too old” shit is AG’s pissed at Biden. I believe that. I’d caution folks on looking at the modern NYT as if it were the NYT of old. It isn’t. It’s selling the news just like FOX is and “marketing” as needed.
How many times the the Grey Lady ask…“what about her emails” but never answer that question? That’s a sleazy “just asking questions” trick. Using the interrogative to mask a declarative: her emails were bad. In the end no they were not. Nor was Benghazi a thing but it got the job done. Just as Judith Millers WMD crap ( A1 above the fold on the paper of record for months ) got the job done. I haven’t considered them credible since their Whitewater bullshit. They’ve never come clean on any of that crap.
Add to that the fact that “all the people” do not vote in presidential elections:
“About two-thirds (66%) of the voting-eligible population turned out for the 2020 presidential election – the highest rate for any national election since 1900.”
Grants Pass is in the eastern part of OR, the drier part of the state east of the Cascade mountain range, generally hotter in heat waves and colder in cold snaps than the milder climate west of the Cascades and near the Pacific ocean that moderates the temperatures.
Same thing here in WA where I live. It’s a different world on each side of the Cascades, both climate and politics. When most people outside the area think of the “Pacific Northwest,” they’re probably thinking about the coastal parts of each state.
ETA: As an example of coastal areas moderating the weather in the PNW, the NOAA weather page is showing a Heat Advisory for my part of WA out here on the northeast tip of the Olympic Peninsula, because the highs today will be 77 F and the lows 58 F.
Almost no one up here has AC, so we get advisories any time the temps get near 80, but it’s nothing to what others are suffering in other parts of the country. My small town is right on the coast, which is why it’s so mild here. Further inland like Seattle the temps are 10 degrees higher.
That is exactly right. I would like to point out that the majority of votes does determine the winner when it is not close. The EC and the popular votes misalign when the race is close. We need to make sure it is not.
No, it’s not, unless you look at the IPCC projections based on the worst case scenario. We’re a direct path to a Dystopian Hellscape thanks in large part to the Heritage Foundation, who just told Americans there won’t be any blood shed if we just lay down and accept it.
Raise your hand if you’re ready to do that.
I know. Our daughter and son-in-law live in Eugene where the forecast for the next four days is a much more temperate 103º. Point is, climate change is proving to be real and the consequences are not good.
Huh, I would not say Grants Pass is in Eastern Oregon. It’s NW of Medford. It is certainly in a redder and more rural part of Oregon.
Bordered by the Coast Mountains on the west and the Cascade Mountains on the east, i
Like his days with the entertainment WWF, where lots of people were saying he was the “best ever” as a trash-talking carnival barker. Like where he perfected those bufffoonish faces from his days in clown school.
"I’VE NEVER EVEN HEARD OF PROJECT 2025"

@RealThelmaJ1
I never thought Joe Biden would quit and never expected him to quit.
I told Mrs. COimmigrant that when we go visit our son in Finland we should spend some time with a realtor. ![]()
Yeah, but east of the Cascades is almost always warmer in Summer. It doesn’t get the moderating effect of prevailing winds off the Pacific ocean.
If she dismisses the charges before trial, that would be appealable. She’s steadfastly avoiding any rulings that would be appealable before trial.
Once the trial begins, the Double Jeopardy clause of the Fifth Amendment prevents retrial if the defendant is acquitted by the jury. And the judge has any number of means to ensure that the jury acquits trump, up to and including directing the jury to check the box that says “Not Guilty.”
