Too late. Damage done.

That’s great but TX isn’t the only place they’re doing this. Do you need two R senators or can anyone get in on the action?

queue up the Benny Hill song “Yakety Sax”, the theme song of Donnie’s administration…

Only TX? And two week extension?

Makes no freaking sense.

Typically Trumpista strategy:

(1) recognize (but deny) that real failures exist;
(2) threaten to break something for no good reason to distract from real failures;
(3) await legitimate outcry over the performative cruelty which distracts from real failures;
(4) swoop in, attempting to look like a rescuer in rolling back the elective-breakage;
(5) instead, look like a capricious bullying sociopath who turns and runs when his impulse-Tweets elicit even more voter rage and the likelihood of even taller Blue Wave in Nov.

A favor for Cruz and Cornyn. Of course, there’s no extension for any blue states.

Wow, he’s really losing, isn’t he?

Good on TPM, if they’re the catalyst for this. Too bad it took TPM bringing this up.

And yeah, it’s just Texas, but how soon before litigation is started in favor of the other States. This sets a precedent that would be hard to overlook.

Just TX? Didn’t swing state PA need/want them to continue there as well? Or are they just trying to not lose TX, to avoid an electoral apocalypse?

I’ll buy that for a dollar

Like a well-oiled machine gun, yucking up the entire joint and then scrambling for cover. Clearly the vaunted task force has been busy at work these past weeks.

Well done, Josh Kovensky. I look forward to evading the paywall when the New York Times gets around to poaching you.

This was solid reporting and a huge scoop. However, this outcome is predictable. You don’t’ fuck with Cornyn.

Only Texas is being exempted?

I didn’t watch every second of it, but the task force didn’t say a word about it as far as I know.

You are the first person in history to make such a statement about John Cornyn. There are few more ineffectual pols out there.
