Of course it’s indefensible.

That’s why they’re denying it.

“…to further address the numbers problem, those dying of covid-19 must be propped up in a chair for a few weeks, weekend at bernie’s-style.”

To die from COVID means you might die for Trump.
This is a high honor and your family will receive a document from Trump thanking you for giving it all for the most worthless SOB in the history of our country.

Shorter article:

“HHS LIES WHEN CONFRONTED WITH PRESS REPORTS IT ORDERED CDC TO CHANGE GUIDELINES TO SLOW DOWN TESTING AT WHITE HOUSE REQUEST”

and even done in Don the Con’s cap lock style… got his short fat fingerprints all over it…

P.s. Biden needs to come out and establish some deterrence. Make a statement that this change appears to have been done for political reasons, and will lead to to loss of life. And that a Biden administration will fully investigate activities related to Covid-19 that cost lives, and seek criminal sanctions against individuals who did not put the public health first or allowed lives to be lost for political reasons, going to the full extent of the law include charges of negligent homicide against those whose intentional actions lead to loss of life.

I smell a rat.
A big, fat, orange plague-spreading rat.

And the Washington Post was unable to contact Fauci, for some reason…

Giroir said of the new guidance. “Conceptually, we don’t believe the number of tests should go down. Conceptually, we believe the number of tests will go up.”

That’s only because large blue states are going to continue testing in large volume, regardless of what miserable hacks might rationalize for their political masters.

“It doesn’t mean on Day four you can go out and visit grandma or on Day six go without a mask…”

So why not tell people that, and insist they get tested on Days 4 and 6? Jesus, Christ! We are inundated with stupid people!

Is there any country on this round earth that has a policy of “less testing is better”?

Brazil, probably Russia. Belarus. I think that is list of places trying to deny the virus exists at this point.

Sure. Russia. Maybe. Hard to say. Anyone who wants more testing is poisoned or sent to a work camp.

Brings to mind an image of a man tied, seated in a chair while a tub of concrete dries around his lower legs. As he sits there, two thugs quip about what has brought him to this pass.

Well, there’s the confirmation that it was done explicitly at Trump’s direction.
