HHS Denies It’s Scaling Back COVID Testing Because Of White House Pressure | Talking Points Memo

This is bull shit. Those exposed to Covid need to be tested with or without symptoms. Yes, it will result in fewer tests Giroir is a liar. Trump has said outloud that we test too much and asked to slow the testing down.

“There’s nothing in here that is meant to intentionally decrease the number of tests,” Giroir said of the new guidance. “Conceptually, we don’t believe the number of tests should go down. Conceptually, we believe the number of tests will go up.”

Exactly. Cuomo just announced he’s ignoring this new guideline. I expect Inslee in my state of WA will as well.

As usual, Trump is going to end up harming Red state voters the most. And as usual, they will keep voting for him.

Surely these people realize that since they have leashed themselves up the most dishonest administration in history they have no credibility. If they don’t, they should.
Off topic-ish: I understand that you might not show positive shortly after an exposure. How do they insure that no pre-positive people have access to POTUS? Seriously, isn’t that risky?

I assume CA, OR, and IL will as well.

It sounds suspiciously retrofitted to match the circumstances of Melania’s audience in the Rose Garden

I think you’re correct: these suspect guidelines provide a rationale for governors to change state policy and the ones most likely to use it for that are in red states.

This will be walked back by Friday, and no one in the white house will remember anything about it or was ever involved.

It is always amazing to me how people cut off their nose to spite their face and act in many other ways which are not in their own best interest when it comes to their political support. I see myself in them, from when I was maybe 4 years old.

Lemmings off the cliff into the sea. The Pied Piper. Hitler. Jonestown Kool-Aid.

All I know is that I watch WorldOMeters daily for the CV numbers and we aren’t seeing nearly the number of confirmeds or tests being run.

This appears to be a deliberate head in the sand move that will not solve the virus problem.

Because asymptomatic people spread Covid, we need to test people if they’ve been exposed with or without symptoms. 183,315 Americans are dead (Worldometers) due to Covid. The only reason to slow down testing is to create an illusion that the virus is on a major decline or gone.

That’s what my wife is afraid of. Out here in Orange County, California our numbers are going down but she’s very suspicious of that.
Seems like a lot of people with an agenda could just stop reporting numbers or stop testing… How would you know? :flushed:
