Judicial Watch’s Tom Fitton is widely credited with waltzing Donald Trump straight into criminal charges by advising him that he was legally entitled to keep the documents he had squirreled away at Mar-a-Lago.
A little life advice kiddies: when the Department of Justice’ Chief of Counterintelligence comes to you hat in hand and asks you to please give the docs back, give the fucking docs back and take the stern finger-wagging you’re gonna get off with. Because if it wasn’t just going to be a stern finger-wag, they’d have sent a squad of burly cops and a paddywagon.

That is great advice from Illinois Governor JB Pritzker and Ron DeSantis should think about it since his policies are going to hurt Florida even more. Yesterday I was fooling around when I came across this story, DeSantis signed a bill allowing the baseball minor league owners to pay their players less than the state’s minimum wage, which will be $11 an hour this coming September 30, 2023.
Then in Sarasota there is this story about a car museum that rent land from the New College of Florida and since DeSantis’ takeover of the college, the new President of the college gave the museum till the end of June to vacate the building and land. The new college President wants to use the land to build a sports complex.
Then there are woes for Florida since many in Georgia will not be visiting the state due to the new migrant laws.
DeSantis is slowly killing the state with his ideas.

Bedford state Rep. Dan Hynes has left the Republican Party over what he says is its abandonment of conservative principles, in particular his opposition to the GOP’s embrace of the Parents Bill of Rights.
By changing his party status to “undeclared/independent,” Hynes reduced the size of the GOP majority to 199-196-2 andtwo vacancies left to fill, exposing yet again how narrowly Republicans are clinging to power in the closely-divided body.

Kent Christmas, the radical right-wing pastor of Regeneration Nashville, last Sunday urged his congregation to show the same sort of “passion” that drives radical Islamic terrorists to be willing to “die for their beliefs.” Via Right Wing Watch:
Christmas, a Trump–loving MAGA pastor and conspiracy theorist who has repeatedly declared that God will soon start killing “wicked” elected officials, got himself worked up during his sermon by falsely asserting that the state of Vermont recently passed legislation declaring that “it is legal, up to 21 days after full-term birth, that you can kill a baby.”
“I am at war with evil!” Christmas ranted. “This is one preacher that is not backing down. I can tell you this: I will give my life for the Gospel.”
“You want to know why the Muslim faith has had its advancements?” he continued. “It’s because the Muslims were willing to die for their beliefs. They were willing to strap bombs to their chest. They believed in the afterlife
