Perhaps DC would be “beautiful and safe” if the current mis-administration had not laid off so many workers or transferred so many LE personnel to “Duties” in Portland, Chicago, Los Angeles, Charlotte.

Mounted with the medals facing his shirt so we see the reverse of each one. Hegseth was a pencil pusher and not involved in combat anywhere near like Kelly was.
Kelly recited military law as it is written. He did nothing outside the First Amendment. Military law stipulates about illegal orders and that service members may object and not follow those orders.

Based on recent events, the shooter is more likely to be a 20-something male who is extremely online, plays Call of Duty or whatever game is hot now, has confused political beliefs, and hangs out on violence-for-violence-sake social media rat holes. Impossible to pin down as rightwing or leftwing, like the Kirk killing and Trump assassination attempts. But the Right will call him a lefty anyway.
All of that just a wild ass prediction of course. We may know what the motive was since the shooter is still alive.

There are currently 2,200 National Guardsmen station in DC. DC Metro police, including sergeants, detective and patrol officers, is over 2,500. Explain to me how 500 more will make a difference, particular against a targeted shooter?

“Jill and I are heartbroken that two members of the National Guard were shot outside the White House,” he said in a post on X. “We are praying for the service members and their families.”
A good response, although why is he posting on X for this? Has no one kept him up to date on what Musk has done to the platform? Why isn’t this a press release sent to all the traditional media instead?

Those Guard members could, and should, have been home with their families or together with friends for Thanksgiving. Forcing other Guard members to be away from their families for Christmas isn’t going to solve anything.

CNN now reporting that the shooter is an Afghan immigrant who immigrated here in 2021. This could be a total can of worms for any number of people. Hang on to yer hats !
