Oh please. “California” didn’t get together to push Biden out. Newsom remained steadfastly loyal to Biden throughout the last three weeks. Also, if Newsom wanted to be President why would he engineer a plan that would likely result in Kamala Harris getting the nomination? Schiff and Pelosi didn’t decide to get the media to write stories reflecting Biden’s clear physical deterioration.
If you want to primary the fuck out of someone, maybe get the actual facts first. If someone was secretly giving Biden some drug to make him age before our eyes, and then was collaborating with the NYT to promote his infirmity then primary the fuck out of them if you like. Though if there is a Democrat that effective at carrying out that plan then maybe we need them in office.
There was never any indication from top Dems that they were anything other than comfortable with a repeat Biden-Harris ticket…no “dump Kamala” movement was even whispered about, or the usual “sources close to Joe Biden are saying…” leaks to the NYT, Politico, etc. So, why should there be any surprise that from grass-roots to Party leaders there is complete and total buy-in to a smooth transition to VP Harris?
Only the usual suspects in the media are kicking around Josh’s “Thunderdome” scenario, and for which there aren’t any takers amongst the voters or money people, so let it go, and find another dead horse to beat…jaysus, these people are so annoying.

Harris’s nomination is 10x more the certainty that Biden’s stepping away was.
Unless something super bizarre happens this is decided - there are no credible names that are out there to jump into the process.

That about sums it up. Straight to the point. We dems should adopt your language. Stop talking about autocracy and Trump wants to be an autocrat. Say he wants to be a king, a monarch above the law. No need to guess what you are driving at and how Trump intends to rule.
I, on the other hand, have been distressed, I did not like what the party was doing to Joe. I understand the desperation, but it was painful. Because he is the good man he is, he made the right decision. He made it and needed that time. He needed to be convinced that Harris could carry the torch. I have not been able to watch the news or even really come here for the past 3 weeks. I’m feeling like I can come back into the world now because it is going in a better direction. I am feeling hopeful.
I think you made the right decision to step away… all you missed, everywhere, was a lot of bickering that you were probably better off without. Anyway, welcome back. Hopefully things will be looking up from here!
It’s hard to lose if you run largely unopposed. That said, I can’t think of a better candidate given the circumstances.
And the California donors are lining up behind Harris.
It’s amazing how hard it is to let go of a narrative once it’s taken root in someone’s head.

I would think so as well, though I think some jumped the gun a little, and the unprecedented flood of donations upended that plan a bit.

I don’t give a fuck anymore. Just so long as we win. If this is the best way to do that…than that’s what we need to do. We can’t keep relitigating the past because there’s nothing anyone can do about it.
It was messy and it was ugly. It was unfair and it was manipulative. It was gamed by big money brokers and it was enough to make anyone angry that voters were being literally ignored at the expense of elite movers and shakers. But I for one, am glad its over…at least I think its over for the time being now that Harris has Biden’s blessing as the presumptive nominee. Some of us have things in our own personal lives to deal with and worrying everyday about the future after November has been beyond anxiety producing. This gives us a chance to change all that.
tRump and his cabal try their darnedest to elicit enough of that anxiety everyday with their nazi loving hatefest. I hope this change with Harris at the top of the ticket gives our party a new determination and a sense of direction to beat the shit out of these authoritarian control-freaks. Time to throw the bums out.
