Half Of GOPers Embrace Myths Trump Pushed Surrounding Capitol Attack | Talking Points Memo

I think the whole point is misinformation, really. She had no idea that her beloved Republican party had been lying to her about inheritance tax her whole life. It always amazes me how often they quote the Founding Fathers without realizing just how incredibly radical they were for their time. Had the word “communism” existed in 1776, King George would have accused Jefferson, et al., of such.

“George W Bush lied America into a disastrous war in Iraq”, Donald Trump 2/13/2016 on national TV.

That is I do not believe that most Republicans who said they believed the lies about Iraq and now say they believe the lies about the 2020 election are in fact telling the truth that they believe the lies. Rather, they have reasons they would rather not state for supporting insurrection and I think that reason is White Christian nationalism.

This is a failure of the media. It’s their job to communicate to people the truth around events and when people don’t understand or believe in that truth, it means the media failed to do their only job. Granted, it’s not TPM’s fault at all and it’s almost entirely the fault of right-wing media who has no interest in communicating the truth. But other major media outlets (CNN, ABC, PBS, WaPo, NYT, etc.) should be holding Fox News and similar outlets accountable by calling them out, refusing to share resources and pool feeds, and hurting those outlets that don’t maintain journalistic integrity. The media needs to police their own, otherwise it will never improve.

But since the level of personal hygiene in the 18th century was almost nonexistent then Jefferson, Adams, and their mob couldn’t really be called “dirty communists”.

But I wonder if we polled Republicans would they believe Ted’s daughters forced him and his wife to take them to Cancun?

Apparently if Donald says it, it’s true.

I guess I stand corrected. That is beautiful, and like no part of Nebraska I ever drove through. Thanks for sharing.

Also… Smokey the Bear thanks you for keeping your forests raked.

They want to believe it, and there is huge media/Facebook machine confirming it for them.

If we ever get a freeze like that one again, I’m definitely flying to Mexico for the week (if I can get someone to housesit the dogs, that is). And honestly, it’s kind of hilarious that none of Heidi’s friends took her up on the suggestion.

I agree. We don’t need to coddle conservatives.

Wouldl that be, and apparently it is, the Fake News?

The right doesn’t believe anything that CNN, ABC, PBS, WaPo, NYT, etc. prints or reports if they don’t like it. It’s Fake News.

Basically, they never made any fraud claims in court. They made plenty in press conferences, but in court they just asked the court to set aside the results of the vote. When asked by the court if they were alleging fraud, they invariably said no. Trump may have had lousy lawyers, but even they knew better than to lie to the court.
