I have to agree somewhat since my younger brother patiently convinced my Trumper cousin to stop being homophobic.
But I simply do not have the social skills or patience that my brother has. I’m proud of him of course but personally, it would have been a waste of my time. Everyone should make their own determination if engaging with Republicans is or is not a sunk cost fallacy.
Good point. I should have written “Too bad impotus couldn’t find any lawyers to even make the fraud claims.”
I had luck in talking around a good conservative blue-collar worker into why insurance mandates were good for him, noting how freeloaders in the system lead to higher premiums and costs for folks who had insurance like him, and that requiring all the freeloaders to purchase insurance would bend the curve in his costs over time.
All in the framing, need to pick the language that resonates. The bleeding-heart stuff about saving lives was never going to reach him, but he sure could understand how them not having insurance affected his wallet.
The GQP only wants to eliminate the voting of black and brown folks, the young, democrats and anyone else who has a functioning brain.
The GQP does not mind if their moron supporters vote, though some of their attempted legislative action may discourage even the morons from voting.
GQP: beware of unintended consequences.
And if Biden can do the same for the Infrastructure Bill we have a chance.
It gets harder and harder to gaslight when all you’ve got is fumes.
That the Con Man continues to spout the Big Lie without a shred of evidence is solely a function of his weak ego: he can’t face the fact that he lost and so he lies on. Of course, he is a pathological liar so nothing new here…
This is to be expected. The fact that so many of his cult believes him is the problem - it means that 74 million voters and one major political party live in LaLa land and are disconnected from reality.
This bodes no good.
I think that both CNN and MSNBC continue to call the Big Lie the Big Lie.
O no it doesn’t. Ever been gaslighted? It’s all fake all the time.
Please forgive my terrible pun about our favorite irrelevancy, TMFWSNBN.
AKA that buzzing sound in our ears fading into the distance.
That has been proven to be the case several times by the news folks. They sit them down, ask them their opinions of each and the same result. Had a friend do the same thing. He finally ended up on the ACA and was thrilled considering his situation. Admitted that he thought they were totally different things. Bet he still went [Individual-1] this last round anyway. Sadly.
The GQP has collectively lost its mind and now lives in a world of ‘alternate facts’, lies and horse shit. You cannot govern a country when this many people are not dealing with reality.
And 74 million is a very large number.
Far too large to just dismiss.
This is a crisis.
Good point. The real question is for the 40% that don’t believe the lies: would you vote for a person who perpetuated these lies?
Frame it in those terms. Does a person who was willing my to destroy the country deserve any kind of support?
Funny, you don’t look Jewish.
My space laser is non-denominational.
Both of them had other plans.
You live in a valley, below the dam. The dam collapses. You can talk all you want about your strategy for stopping the looming tsunami about to swallow you. But it’s still going to swallow you.
We’re doomed. Secession by several select states is truly the only chance of saving the republic. Lincoln fucked up.
hahahahahahahahaha
My feeling about GOP voters, y’all is this: What would it take for any of y’all to switch and vote GOP? What’s that - you wouldn’t? Well they feel the same way. You might convince one or so of them that they are mistaken about something but that doesn’t translate into voting Democratic. And I don’t think they will in any numbers that would make a difference, Just like we wouldn’t vote GOP even if they showed us that something we believe politically is incorrect.
The biggest voting bloc in the country is Independents. They are worth pursuing, since they lean Democratic anyway.
