The first thing I ever did in my career was PR, and did it off and on ever since, and I can tell you that doesn’t happen. What happened is Trump taught them you can just assert stuff that’s a total lie, 180 degrees from the truth, and not just a lie but an absurd lie, and the base will eat it up and say it tastes good. So that’s what they did. It didn’t work. Now they’re backing away. In the first day or so I thought this was such an incredible, disastrous mistake if deliberate that they more likely did mean investigation of people who weren’t at the Capitol and just forgot to say so because they’re stupid. But when you have changing stories, sorry. It’s an aneurysm in the aorta of your credibility. Jeeze, they’re stupid, is how I think we can sum this up.
