Sorry, Chuck. It’s time to step up and name names. You can’t keep trying to protect Donnie and his enablers if you hope to keep your reputation for caring about whistleblowers.
“Complaints based on second-hand information should not be rejected out of hand, but they do require additional leg work to get at the facts and evaluate the claim’s credibility."
Fortunately, Inspector General Atkinson has already determined that the whistleblower’s complaint is credible, so no need for “leg work” or further evaluation.
Could other R Senators start to coalesce around Grassley?
Tho it’s the least this swine could do, this stuff will help make more sparks crackle in the orangehole’s vacuum tube. The faster he gets to smearing shit on his face on live video the better.
The White House isn’t under active assault from Republican members of Congress… but they also seem to be standing pretty much by their lonesome, defended only by the most compromised (hi, Lindsay) and most foolish (hi, Mr. Gaetz).
Additionally, this particular whistleblower’s complaint was largely substantiated by the White House memorandum of the phone call in question. I can’t think of a better way to legitimize the whistleblower’s credibility.
Gathering information from various sources and reporting what they learn is what government intelligence experts do. It’s not “hearsay,” it’s their job.
I can’t figure what Grassley is likely to get upset about. I think he’s having trouble with lucidity as a constant state of mind and there is no telling when it will show up.
Trump is so concerned about what he characterizes as “hearsay” and “second hand” information while at the same time while trying to prove his point or take a position he uses “many people say” ad infinitum. What a maroon!!!
$10 says that Chuck knows the name of the whistleblower, and it’s a devastating one for the administration, with plenty of credibility and an honorable record.
Only the cream of the crop get juicy assignments like the WH.
