He does not want Trump on the 2020 ticket. MM would rather Nikki Haley or Mitt or someone safer for the GOP. Joe Scarborough floated both names this morning. The problem Mitch has is Trump and his refusal to leave in a dignified way.

Could be wrong, but if we see him work a deal in short order for Nikki to slip in as VP and Trump to leave with pardons for him and his family…

and didn’t it take them a day or two to accomplish this transcript? And didn’t they go over it with a fine-tooth comb to be as accurate as Trump wanted it to be?
And didn’t it still implicate Trump as having done something illegal?
That’s what my argument is with all the detractors who are mad at the process, but have nothing to say about the actual detail.

This whole trope that Trump and his media and political allies are trying to push that somehow the whiste blower’s info is illegitimate because it was second-hand or “hearsay” - cough Lindsey Graham - is bullshit.
If someone tells the cops they heard about a crime that was committed and they check it out and there was indeed a crime, the perp doesn’t get to walk because the info came to them second-hand or hearsay.

Of course Trump said he did it, but it was ok because the call was perfect, right?
The detractors of the WB report is that it was all ok, nothing illegal about it, because Trump said he did it and it was ok. That’s the direction I was going.
But the detractors are mad about the format which, as someone said here (above), second hand reports are ok for Hunter Biden and Hillary Clinton, but in this scenario, it shouldn’t be taken as truth.
