Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) on Sunday tried serving up bothsides-ism in an effort to distance himself from former President Trump’s pledge to pardon the mob of his supporters who participated in the deadly Capitol insurrection if he is re-elected.
Graham: “Hmm, if it’s Sunday then that means that I have to say whatever it takes to survive politically. Of course this is true Monday through Saturday too and twice on every other Black Sabbath when I practice my Oral Magicks.”
If a Republican does something bad, it’s okay or, if it’s really awful and indefensible, it’s “inappropriate.” If a Democrat does something that a Republican can claim is kinda, sorta like a bad thing, then it’s “lock her up time” all over again.
And Lindsey went through JAG school. He’s a lawyer, fer chrissakes. Now that’s indefensible.
I don’t know, Mizz Lindsey, but promising pardons to a group of conspirators sounds a bit like witness-tampering to me…probably OK for Republicans tho?
In addition to claiming that the GOP “can’t grow without” Trump, Graham threatened to vote against McConnell if he doesn’t “effectively work” with the former president.
Lindsey, Lindsey, that growing thingy is a tumor, most likely cancerous. You can’t pray cancer away, you can’t pray that Donnie will wake up one morning and act like a rational human being. As for Trump supporters, they by their own words are in it for Trump, not your damn party, or your supposed ideals, but for the Orange Man alone.
Graham is an attention whore and a frivolous distraction otherwise. Aside from the more serious issue of Senate majority I genuinely wish he had not be elected last cycle if only to get him invited to fewer Sunday talk shows so I wouldn’t see him in the news later.
Mr. Graham tells too many whoppers for any reckoning of his position to be worth the time. Clearly he’d like to be evaluated as being less blameworthy than Trump. But that’s about as far as we can go, really. Still doesn’t make his back-and-forth into an acceptable position for a U.S. senator.
I think you might have lost one of these. If not, then take this anyway. My gift to you.
Having one of these and looking at it from time to time is a whole lot handier than wetting your finger and sticking it in the air to see which way the wind(s) is/are blowing.
