If you’re in the GOP, it’s now mandatory when talking about 1/6 rioters to both-sider it with a mention of some Dem-related protest. Sununu did it too in the other story today, mentioning Antifa burning buildings in the same breath as the 1/6 rioters, saying they should both be prosecuted.
And of course the hosts of these shows never call them out for false equivalence. Show me an Antifa or BLM rioter being charged for seditious conspiracy.
He makes me dizzy, Miss Lindsey, when he rocks and rolls his views, the way he does his opinion stroll.

Fine to label the Republican Party the Pro-Jan. 6th party and run against them on that.
But the Jan. 6th committee hearings are coming… so we believe. The Dems might have missed the boat by not holding at least some preliminary hearings by now. After a damn year. Anyway, a lot is riding on these hearings, if and when they occur, and we can only hope the Dems don’t fuck them up.
Not at all too late. In fact timed just right, as we approach the midterms. Watergate hearings didn’t really get underway until around a year after it became clear that it was way more than a botched 3rd rate burglary. Same with Iran-Contra, 9/11, etc.

Another Republican-forward Sunday. Is this not all too obvious? This guy spreads lies that hurt Americans, America, and democracy.
Yes. He says that today, but when Biden does something totally outrageous like ensuring black people have equal access to the vote, he’s going to have no choice but to side with the insurrectionists.

Inconsistency, hypocrisy, double-talk and mis-representation and Graham are no strangers to each other. That alone is responsible for the relatively few posts on these particular failings of Graham.

Things fall apart. Right now the US public and private debt-to-GDP ratio is about 350% of GDP, or over $70 trillion. Congress holds the purse strings and regulates the expansion of private debt, so it is increasingly weird that the shape of the next recession not at the front of discussion. This should be especially relevant as no developing country like China has ever piled on as much debt in a short time without a big financial crisis at the end of the episode. That is, even if the US was perfect in managing debt, taxation, wealth distribution etc., there will still be the shock from a Chinese financial meltdown. Instead, when we are reading about Trump’s “Save America” call for pardoning insurrectionists, it turns out he’s not even talking about saving money, just his own hide.
For a while, I felt some pity for that man. Then after a while, it just made me sad to watch him abase himself.
Now I can’t even manage “sad”.
Maybe there’s some sort of psychosexual origin to this inability to find some honesty, some integrity. Or maybe it’s just that he’s a Republican in this era. Whatever the cause, it stopped mattering years ago what he says. He’s a nothing, a cipher, a drone. It’s no way to live, but it’s not my problem.
I am no fan of John McCain. Sarah Palin has influenced my opinion of him. However, the pairing of Graham and McCain always made me aware that the latter was more courageous than the former, who always has had a flexible relationship with the truth.
And what was left of Graham was trashed by Trump.
It’s a minimum of three years til El Naranja Lardo could even conceivably (dog forbid) issue pardons. That still results in some nice 2+ year Graybar Hilton stays for the treasonous bastards.
Oh, give Lindsey a day or two. He’ll be all for “defiling” the Capitol Building and secular temple of democracy in this country. Lindsey will be demanding that all the insurrectionists be pardoned immediately, and those accused of violence rewarded with medals.
Just as soon as his master in Mar-a-La-Go gives a little tug on the choke collar.
