Not really in this cycle. But he still only got 67% of the vote. He really hasn’t had a well funded primary opponent since he started running for Senate, but he still struggles to get out of the 50-60% percent range. I believe he has only run unopposed once in the primary.
But he still lives in perpetual fear of it.

I’ve despised him since his days in the House. And that feeling has only grown over the years since.
I loathe people like McConnell, too…but at least he has convictions. Deeply evil convictions, but you know where he stands. Graham has none, and never has. And is yet so needy to spout off his new talking point with such complete and utter partisan hatred.

I of course don’t know what’s going on behind the scenes but I imagine it’s becoming clear to a lot of GOP leaders that while major donors may have tolerated Trump’s antics in return for tax cuts, they’re not going to tolerate the GOP hitching its cart to clearly mentally disturbed kooks like MTG and Boehlert. You can’t deliver on lower taxes and regulations when you’re focused on batshit nonsense like space lasers, coups, and QAnon. Moreover, you’re going to lose elections. Badly.
