The Children and Families Act wouldn’t describe all that’s in it, especially the climate stuff. But it would be a hell of a lot better than “Build Back Better.” That’s a stupid name for the bill, sounds like an intern in a marketing agency came up with it.
co-chair of the Problem Solvers Caucus
Um . . . these comments aren’t exactly Solving Problems.
Perhaps we should just embrace our “lefthood.” Get the name, play the game. Get Mel Brooks and some of his pals to write us an anthem/theme songs, like “Hope for the Best, Expect the Worst.”
BTW, Larry Hogan is a corpulent pusmaggot!
Any Republican that blames a family white, black, or brown who has children. Had children when they hadn’t already socked away enough money, $267,233 in 2021 dollars to be exact, before even having sex. And that’s per child.
As for the elderly, if they just hadn’t had children, then they could have socked away enough for retirement.
Yes, as Biden has patiently explained the new spending on expanding the lower classes economically will save money overall once we provide taxes from those making over $400,000 a year.
There are ways that clever people have long understood: to save money in the long run get the best you can to start out with and you don’t have to keep spending for replacements.
For example replacing lead water pipes will lower the future costs of healthcare and improve the future educational prospects of the poor children now drinking lead laden water…
Notice that the kids aren’t looking at the camera. That Mel is there, but everyone else was born a Trump except for her. That the little boy looks like he’s got the weight of the world on his shoulders, Oh that’s grandpa. So I wonder if the kid has figured out that he’ll be carrying this burden the rest of his life. Also which Trump offspring do these kids belong to?
Rep. Josh Gottheimer (D-NJ), co-chair of the Problem Solvers Caucus
… … …
(((loud snicker)))
Sorry, couldn’t help myself…
“We expect the information we receive to be in line with what we received from the Treasury Department. And we will, at that point, I’m sure, be ready to move forward,” Gottheimer said.
In other words, “I’m still willing to renege.”
Donald is thinking… “Who the fuck are these little kids? Where the hell did they come from??”
Someone needs to inform the Problem Solvers Caucus that IF you are not part of the solution YOU are part of the problem.
He can fk himself.
Does he understand that being a problem solver does not mean that first he creates a problem?
This time… but next time they might chose another hill
Roughly as predictable as the sun rising. I love that they call themselves “the Problem Solver Caucus.” I know how to solve problems! You just prevent any money from being spent on solving problems, and, presto change-o, problem solved! Then you tweet your media pals and get a headling reading “Gottheimer argues not spending money on problem solved it; progressives disagree.”
I hope he’s just preening for the TV camera.
If they wanted to do it, They could just follow Nancy’s lead and point out the reactionaries had no problem breaking the bank by passing a $2 trillion tax cut for the wealthy. And BBB just isn’t in that league.
If their constituents (who, I’d wager, aren’t mainly in the top 1%) are really concerned about fiscal probity, that’s about all that needs to be said.
It’s not all that needs to be said and, so, I’d bet it’s not what’s going on here.
“I solved the problem of runaway spending by killing BBB.”
So, effectively, he defines government spending as the problem, which puts him in the reactionary camp.
I refuse to commit to doing what I said I would do and reserve the right to move the goalposts if necessary.
I think saving further harm to the planet via the climate stuff is a big positive for the children. But yeah, “Build Back Better” is a really stupid name.
So even if we lose Gottheimer and the rest of his “problem solvers” we pick up 100% of the GOP House and Senate because it cuts the deficit.
