GOPers Desperate To Pin Blame For Potential Trump 2024 Loss On Non-Citizen Voters ‘Wherever They Are’

Election deniers and Republican members of Congress promoted a redundant piece of legislation Wednesday that would outlaw non-citizens from voting in federal elections. The legislation, which is being branded by sponsors of the bill as “one of the most important pieces of legislation that will be presented within our lifetime” is a solution to a problem that simply does not exist.

We all know intuitively that a lot of illegals are voting in federal elections,”

I think I found the problem. With this, and the entire GOP.

“The biggest single reason not to vote when you’re a non-citizen is that not only is there a serious criminal penalty attached, and not only is there potential for a serious fine attached, but you can be removed from the country,” Justin Levitt, professor of law at Loyola Law School, previously told TPM in an interview.

It is already against the law and to do so the non-citizen risks prison, fine and deportation. Tell me again why new legislation is necessary? There are so many things Republicans could be arguing about right now one wonders why the focus all of their attention on imaginary issues.

Be that as it may, Catholics perfected the tactic long before. Just think of Satan: It’s not me who is responsible for the bad things I do, Satan made me do it.

None citizen voting is not just rare…it’s impossible. Think of the last time you voted. ID first. Then they look you up in the registry. Cross you off when you get a ballot and you vote. You’d have to have citizen verification ID. Be registered to vote and then pass the inspection of those parameters.

You can vote in another’s name as the registry stops that. You can’t show up claiming to be someone as the ID checks that. It can’t be done.

So when the liar Johnson ( yes liar…bearer of false witness under the cover of Jesus ) says “some” are doing it. ask him who and to name one. If it’s being done why has no one caught it? And who are “some” voting for? Can he divine that too?

It can’t be done. It’s a meme intended to smear Democrats. Like after birth abortion, open borders or rising crime.

Johnson might want to ask himself if these “illegals” are so clever they can bypass all that GOP picture ID shit why not invite them in and let them design spaceships.

I’ve known Republican lawyers banging on this “illegals voting” drum for more than 30 years . . . such utter horseshit!

Non-citizen voting is already illegal and, last I checked, all states have law enforcement agencies tasked with enforcing the law. The reason there is a negligible amount of non-citizen voting is because there is a negligible amount of voter fraud all around.

That’s not a surprise given that campaigns spend millions each election just to get citizens to vote and often struggle to get more than 50% of the eligible population to the polls. Voting is often not something the average person is interested in doing.

Prove it. Talk is cheap. Prove it. Bring the evidence to a court, place it before a judge and reap the benefits. Or is it somehow the perfect crime? Prove it.

New legislation is needed to keep their false narrative in the media.

The swine must have research evidence that saying nonsense has more weight than actual actions that you did, like refusing to pass a decent border bill that your own swine helped draft.

Why else would they keep doing it? (Oh, besides that they got nothing else?)

It’s extremely rare, but technically does happen.

The Heritage Foundation’s Voter Fraud Database contained entries for at least 80 noncitizens found to have voted in U.S. elections as of May 2024.

Here are some examples from their database:

The last one shows the lie that non-citizen voting is a Democratic problem.

How childishly pathetic! Small government conservative Republicans like Barry Goldwater and John McCain are probably puking in their graves at the gutless bowing to the Orange Asshole (and draft dodger) that current “Republicans” are doing. Ever since November 2020, there is almost a new daily stolen vote idea balloon floated. It’s time to admit that Diaper Don lost the election to Biden for a very simple reason–more people voted for Biden than Trump. Oh yeah, I know, Trump
can’t except that he could lose (while sitting in court getting beat everyday for things like election fraud, business fraud, and rape). This election will sadly be the death knell for what was once a great political party.

Biden’s “reckless open borders”

Which Republicans insist stays open, so they can gripe about it without doing anything about it.

“We all know intuitively that a lot of illegals are voting in federal elections,” [Johnson] said.

How about all the two residence Republicans voting in multiple states? No need to intuit. We know how many have been caught.

Sounds reasonable. I intuitively know Johnson’s an idiot.

Look, despite losing over 60 court cases and winning nothing in 2020 there are millions of MAGA republicans who think the 2020 election was won by Trump. The only justification Republcans need is “we say so.” The Republican communications director must be the ghost of Joseph Goebbels. If you tell a big lie often enough it will magically become “truth.”

I can’t figure out what this bill adds that isn’t already the law - maybe this “we’re going to give the states the mechanism to prove this”?

I guess instead of being outraged at the Republicans pushing an unnecessary piece of legislation, I’d consider calling their bluff and passing it (as long as there’s nothing awful in it), and once states have this magical mechanism, reporting that, in fact, non-citizen voting continues to be a non-issue.

But there’s not a lot of detail about what it would actually do that I can find.
