Meanwhile the one major network I still had some respect for - CBS - just hired Mick Mulvaney who apparently pledged to lie and repeat propaganda nationally. CBS decided to give Mulvaney’s lies a HUGE soapbox. CBS chose miniscule additional profit over integrity.

The GOP elite believes: despite increasingly costly defeats, that it can control chaos. It wants to harness the electoral energy demonstrated by Reps MTG and Gaetz, and famously by Mr. Trump. They know how reckless and dangerous these people are, but they deceive themselves that it will somehow work out, and after the smoke clears the ‘adults’ will be back in charge. Sword and Sorcery fiction shows that courting chaos usually doesn’t end well…
And will be land-slide re-elected in November. Always remember and never forget - they love her in her district and will gladly send her back to commit more hi-jinx.

I posted an article by Amanda Marcotte from Salon yesterday about why the RW has grown addicted to telling lies so huge, so monstrous, so egregious, and so unbelievable. Because they can.
The very point has become that it dominates the narrative and they revel in their ability to so easily do it. They don’t have to have real dirt, or a real problem with Dems or whoever the enemy is. Just concoct the most horrendous thing you can think of, and hang it around your opponent’s neck. Your brownshirts and the MSM will usually do the rest for you.
It is also a control mechanism, a test to see that all good RWers are still nicely in line and goose-stepping with precision. Good little RWers just nod their heads and say “yes, it’s true” when their Kommandants bark out a vile lie. And imagine the rush when you are Empty Greene, or Boebert, or Chump when you smear an entire country, or party, or religion with a heinous lie and just watch millions of your target audience nodding and clapping, and the press rushing to cover your claim.

I read this earlier today, elsewhere. Not so sure it’ll matter with the ICC:
