Yes evidently you can’t be an R Senator in Chump’s world without screaming to the world how far up his ass you are…whenever you come out for some air.
Rs in general should be completely humiliated at what subservient lickspittles they have all become, continuously squealing to the nation on TV at how they have no independence, no free thought, absolutely goose-stepping for Hair Furor. I understand what lockstep criminals they are, I am aghast at how publicly willing they are to claim they don’t have a spine.

Right now, with Barr running loose and SCOTUS poised to overlook (for now) Trump’s foibles, it looks as though Team Trump MUST have the upper hand (or else Moscow McConnell and Graham would not be so obvious).

As soon as McConnell has 51 votes to end the trial, they’ll take that vote and move on to deliberations. What’s telling is that he apparently does not have 51 votes to dismiss the articles at the outset. If he doesn’t have 51 votes to dismiss, I don’t see how he would have 51 votes to end the trial after the House managers make their opening statement. It seems likely that at least a few Republican senators want to hear from some witnesses first.

Exactly. This is directed at the Pittsburgh and Philadelphia suburbs even though he’s not on the ballot in 2020. He’ll vote with Moscow Mitch. Pat’s no profile in courage.

I think what is highly inappropriate is that Senators who will be serving as jurors putting their biases and intentions on full public display before the actual trial takes place.
If you’ve ever been called for jury duty then you know where expressing your intentions and biases during jury selection will land you.
I hope that if Justice Roberts has the capability to excuse the likes of Graham and McConnell along with any others for this very basic act that he will exercise it and remove them from the room for the duration of the trial.

Hoeven went on the Ukraine-Moscow “fact-finding” trip.
They should be barred from the process. In fact, there should be a hung Senate until the next election. Let the House’s indictment hang over Trump until then. Is that possible? We are in uncharted waters, or at least the charts we have have sea monsters, mermaids and water pouring off the edge of the flat earth.
