They seem so despearte to hear from the whistle blower, but don’t seem to care about hearing from other first hand witnesses that are refusing to show up.

OK, Jim. I give up. I’m the whistle blower. I’ll come testify in public.

How’s never in your fucking lifetime work for your schedule?

Or even: after all the other fact witnesses appear, including those called by the Republicans to defend Trump, and the release of his taxreturns and financial records … if he’s still standing.

Maybe they could subpoena the chair that the whistleblower was sitting in when he learned of the crimes so they could interview and question an empty chair on national TV?

You might want to make that contingent on Gym willingly testifying in all the OSU athletes’ lawsuits.

More accurate headline. “Congressional Republicans demand House violate federal law to protect Dear Leader.”

“truthfully” would have to be an enforceable condition, too, when it comes to Gym.

Maybe the Rethugs all have their heads in the sand and have failed to notice how many members of this maladministration are coming forward to testify.
Rethugs not remotely interested in the truth, they’re only trying to change the narrative from the guilty POS in the WH.

Could someone with a news-channel-sized bullhorn please point out the obvious here, that the House GOP has no actual interest whatsoever in whistleblower testimony? That they have no interest at all in hearing what a whistleblower might have to say (not that any WB has any obligation whatsoever to testify here in the first place), but rather that they only want a name?

They want to dox someone to death, that’s all they want. They want to dox them, to intimidate them and anyone else who has even in inkling to blow the lid off all the malfeasance that the GOP engages in.

That is all they want here. No testimony, just a name, and they’re obviously becoming increasingly desperate to pin all this on a single person. Call out this bullshit for what it is, once and for all.

Deciphering can be a good exercise, especially in the morning at work when one finds oneself surrounded by grownups.

Exactly right, they are just looking for a bite sized headline about how the whistleblower knew Biden’s cousin’s dentist and therefore the whole thing is FAKE NEWS.

This is all about courting the public opinion of the stupid. There is no real legal defense to be made, so that is all they have to resort to.

Testify to what? tRump has stated this in a tweet:

Donald J. Trump :heavy_check_mark: @realDonaldTrump

Bill Barr did not decline my request to talk about Ukraine. The story was a Fake Washington Post con job with an “anonymous” source that doesn’t exist. Just read the Transcript. The Justice Department already ruled that the call was good. We don’t have freedom of the press!

Bill Barr did not decline my request to talk about Ukraine.

Seems to me that’s a confession.

Trump wanted Barr to hold news conference saying the president broke no laws in call with Ukrainian leader

Why reveal the truth when a headline will serve your purposes so much better?

First the GOP complains that the whistleblower was reporting second hand information, that he/she wasn’t on the phone call and didn’t have any personal knowledge. Now they’re wasting their breath fighting to get the whistleblower on the stand in a clear effort to distract. The whistleblower’s testimony is not “best evidence.” The House panel has better evidence and any night court judge trying a B&E case would toss the whistleblower out and listen to the witnesses who were on the call where the president committed treason.
