Maybe not from 1619, but old enough to believe her slaves were well treated.

Which always also coincides with business interests… weird

Not that crazy, as they are also misunderstanding the clear intent on Jesus’ whole… deal…

I don’t even believe, but can see the whole Jesus fable for its intended meaning.

I wouldn’t call what they claim to follow Christianity.

Ayn Rand taught her followers to use religion and patriotism to manipulate people in order to amass wealth and power.

If the dominant religion in this country was something other than Christianity, they would probably claim to be members of that faith instead.

Virginia Foxx (R-NC) and Greg Murphy (R-NC) said they objected to the hiring of Times reporter Nikole Hannah-Jones in part because they said the journalist’s work was “purposefully divisive.”

Racism is purposeful division, and it’s unacceptable.

I had a US history teacher in 11th grade who told us stuff that floored us. Not in the book. His favorite topic was trappers who suffocated in their own vomit at rendezvous and the enslaved First American women sold to them who counted on it so they could get away.

The real history of America is at least as if not uglier than any other nation. Every day I am shocked anew at the desperate efforts to keep the lid on it.

OT, kinda, but you know all those Trumpwit (I know no worse word) disciples of “toughness” who were dumping all over Simone Biles?

And still she came back to win a medal. Well done, says I.

Sounds like the early 17th century Massachusetts of John Winthrop and others.

These rotten bastids are WAY over the line. God did NOT come down and smack them on the head and give them all KNOWLEDGE. To weigh in on medical, education, ANYTHING other than the committees they serve on is a step to far. Racist, bigoted, sexist ignorant aholes.

The constituents who actually vote for them consider that to be a good thing, unfortunately. Dam(YANKEE) librul eggheads with their politically correct CRT.

Coming from representatives of the party of Donald Trump, Tucker Carlson, Fox News, OANN, and Newsmax, THAT is really fucking rich.

By “free speech,” they mean you’ve got to insert some white supremacist values in the college curriculum, otherwise you are teaching Marxism or some other objectionable -ism.

Whenever THE TRUTH itself is divisive, someone needs to re-examine their loyalties.
