Rep. Chris Stewart (R-UT), a member of the House Intel Committee who ardently defended President Donald Trump during the impeachment inquiry, is getting a serious look to be the next director of national intelligence.

However, Maguire’s participation in hammering out an agreement to provide the whistleblower’s complaint to Congress, an action which helped touch off the impeachment inquiry, may prove a stumbling block to his nomination.

Translated: Even if trump nominates him, the fascist-wannabes in the senate will want to punish any deviation from pure loyalty to Il Duce Arancione.

Well, sure, fascists always surround themselves with a hermetically sealed bubble of devoted suck-ups. Which is why fascists ultimately fail and get hung up by their heels with their mistresses in the town square.

The problem is that there is a hell of a lot of damage happening between the events described in my first sentence and the finale described in the second sentence.

acting DNI Joseph Maguire is reaching the end of his legal term in an acting capacity;

The story of the Trump administration was actually written in 1599.

“All the world’s a stage, And all the men and women merely players; They have their exits and their entrances;”

I went to a talk by Susan Rice last night. What a difference.

Another sycophant. Great.

Yep.

The one silver lining I take from all of this is that when it ends, it will be a rout. I don’t think the players will simply be able to slink away into the shadows. Every Republican in a seat will be under intense scrutiny.

“Bi-partisan” - i.e. both radical and moderate Republicans.

I’m surprised Maguire is even still there after that bit of disloyalty.

Maguire blocked IC IG Atkinson from transmitting the whistleblower’s complaint to Congress as required by law.

What agreement did he hammer out?

However, Sen. Richard Burr (R-NC) was lukewarm towards Trump’s last outwardly partisan pick — Rep. John Ratcliffe (R-TX) — and may push for a candidate who would enjoy bipartisan support, though Senate Republicans could get the confirmation done alone.

They should have to. Abject loyalty to Trump is the only requirement for any position in this administration and the traitors in the Senate have already surrendered their independence. Make them own it.

Would a nominee be confirmed by March 11? If not, is it not the case that the next acting must be someone currently in the IC organization?

He will just name another “Acting Director.”

Exactly. So why spend time on the monkeys when we can wreak sweet vengeance on the Organ Grinder. All focus should be on exposing and defeating Trump. Let him pick whatever minions he wants. He’s running out of time.

We should have just made a list of what foul actions Trump would be likely to take. Then we could just have a list: #5 happened today.
