It’s just a personal dislike. Her manner infuriates me. But regardless, she did end up in prison!

Begging for their own money, which they will never get back.

Losers.

Prison did her good, at least in a public sense. She’s way more laid back, and she’s pretty funny. Check out her instagram posts where she gets drunk and Zooms with Snoop Dogg. Hilarious. Snoop asked her to write the introduction to his cookbook. (It’s a great cookbook, btw.)

I’ve always said that dealing with the Republican Party is like watching an indefinitely extended Monty Python sketch.

It is all about the money.

I’ve been wondering about the percentages - how much of today’s GOP is driven by Stockholm Syndrome versus a combination of Kompromat and bribes?

Exactly. Any concern for the midterms is a distant second for the RNC, and means nothing to Trump. He’s trying to lock in the small dollar contributions for himself. From the NYT piece on it:

The aggressive move against his own party is the latest sign that Mr. Trump is trying to wrest control of the low-dollar online fund-raising juggernaut he helped create, diverting it from Republican fund-raising groups toward his own committee, which has virtually no restrictions on how the money can be spent.

What I find interesting is the degree to which fund-raising for campaign can be a grifting opportunity. I think the NYT did an article on Ben Carson running for president as a way to provide a 6 figure salaries for his fund-raisers and, possibly, himself, rather than because he actually planned to be president. You note, Trump gave him a cabinet position, but one where he had no expertise, and therefore wouldn’t ever bother Trump with either policy or as a rival. I’m sure that effectively shut down Carson’s fund-raising and probably turned it over to Trump.

Isn’t that why he’s extra motivated to keep the donations flowing to him, to cover his endless legal fees?

The Republican Party is lining up as a nice piggy bank.

The GOP has been whittled down to the Base.
That’s why they have a strategy of Lying, Obstruction and Voter Suppresion

It’s a L. O. V.-fest

(1) Lying secures the Base. They feed off of it
(2) Obstruction weakens Democrats’ ability to deliver for the American People
(3) Voter Suppression means that the GOP will win no matter what they do**

** so they think
