GOP Grasps At Weird Straws To Defend Justice Thomas

Republicans are currently engaged in a masterclass in bizarre deflection.

GOP senators in recent days have stretched themselves thin to avoid engaging with calls for Justice Clarence Thomas to recuse himself from Jan. 6-related cases in light of his wife, Ginni Thomas’ explosive pro-coup texts sent to then-White House chief of staff Mark Meadows in the weeks after the 2020 presidential election.

Well, that. And don’t take that Coke he just offered you…

Fuck Hawley, that slimy little seditionist Nazi punk.

Well, I’m sure all of their pronouncements are consistent with their previous statements about Hillary and Bill Clinton…

The problem isn’t what Ginni Thomas said, it was who she said it to, the president’s chief of staff. She didn’t have access because she was your typical right wing nut job. She had it because she was a Supreme Court Justice’s wife.

“Master” is a good word choice.

Ginni can do.what she wants. If she does certain things that will appear in certain cases, Justice Thomas needs to recuse himself.

“The idea that Ginni Thomas is supposed to sign off on her texts and her work with her husband as if he’s in charge of her in some way — isn’t that misogyny something which I just pulled out of my ass?” Hawley said.

Maybe Clarence can swear under oath that he never talks politics or court cases with Ginni.

I so recall the measured comments from Republicans when Bill Clinton ran into Loretta Lynch on the tarmac and they spoke for 30 minutes. We are not asking for Ginni Thomas to be investigated because she is a woman but because she was a key player in trying to undo a free and fair election. Clarence Thomas is being asked to recuse himself on issues that may impact his wife.

Republicans are, as usual, acting bash!t crazy.

Swear on a can of Coke, so we can be sure he means it?

He’d also have to show that he had no idea what she was up to… Never read The New York Times in his life.

It’s Hunter Biden versus Ginnii Thomas for notoriety this week. Except for the fact that the former is the topic/subject of oppo “info” dedicated to casting shade on a legitimate series of inquiries of questionable activities of a spouse of a Supreme Court Justice.

I’m sorry this is not new.

Next up water = wet.

Better: Crimes committed in plain sight = expected behavior. And again (and again and again) they will not be punished.

“I have no idea what a burner phone The New York Times is, to the best of my knowledge I have never even heard the term.”

Clearly Josh Hawley has no idea what misogyny is. And John Cornyn - really?

Then you must be livid over Hunter Biden.

You are correct, but it should be noted that, at least part of the problem is or should be with what she said. Ginni “barges off Gitmo” Thomas, and wife of a Supreme Court Justice, is bugfuck crazy, man.
