GOP Adopts ‘Coup’ Rhetoric | Talking Points Memo

There’s been a lot of talk of a “coup” lately in light of the House Democrats’ impeachment inquiry. At least among Republicans defending President Donald Trump after his now-infamous July call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that was an effort to manufacture bogus allegations against former Vice President Joe Biden and his son Hunter.

Just shows that they do not have any defense for their actions.

You can call what you want, but Democrats are trying to coup the most popular Republican president in history.

No real news yet today, about this subject anyway. Silly reactions from Trump supporters are really not news. Later!

“Sure is a nice coup you have there. Shame if something happened to it…”

Hey - if it’s a coup against a king, well, we’re pretty damn good at that. That’s how this show got on the road in the first place.

Want another revolution? Ok.

“he President’s re-election campaign manager Brad Parscale became the latest Trumpworld figure to jump on the “coup” bandwagon in a Wednesday tweet.”

Less concerned on what Parscale is doing on the front side. More concerned about his less visible activities.

But then again, heck why not. We have watched a 2.5 overthrow of our government and constitution. Why not a front side coup in return? One that follows the rule of the law even.

This talk of a “coup” has me a bit worried. What greater reason does T rumpp need to cancel the next election? We’re in the middle of an attempted coup! That means the Democrats have forfeited their rights to participate in those elections. This is war!

“You can call what you want, but”

There’s point in arguing with people who talk that way.

This clip was shared elsewhere this morning…

  1. This was in July of 1974 at a fundraiser for a GOP rep who subsequently lost.

  2. Expression of “confidence”.

  3. “an attempt to undo the election results” is a recurring theme.

  4. Nixon resigned 2 weeks later.

These guys have exactly one playbook.
Let’s carry on. We know how this ends.

Toto ends up back in Kansas, and somehow that old fart that feeds him is still working on mending the fence. Sheesh, old man, the chickens can get right through those split rails, you’re wasting your time.

The only ‘coup’ individual orange is likely to experience involves a different kind of stroke.
