GOP Adopts ‘Coup’ Rhetoric | Talking Points Memo

I’m poised to count coup all over the GOP. They want to go to war, let’s go to war.

It wouldn’t end well for him, if he did that.

ummmmm

Call me when the Dems have taken over the radio and TV stations, the airports and railways, and are holding the GOP prisoner in the basement of the House.

And c’mon Parscale: ‘coup’ as a verb? I think not. Of course, neither do you, so we’re … wait, not even. I’ll always be your superior.

Democrats should go on offense. Defending all this crazy is a fools errand. Somebody on the Democratic side should be jumping up and down screaming that Trump is trying to deny America of the Congress and is trying to negate the 2018 election.

Because the federal government does not control our elections. The states do.

What’s the point. They’re mostly too dumb to even know they’ve been owned.

From T rumpp’s POV. And Parscale’s.

Proof that this is a slow news day.

With stories designed to negate the feeling of progress most of us have been feeling. That is unfortunate, on the part of those who trade in these kinds of stories and those who exaggerate their importance.

Getting lackeys has never been a Trump problem. Promise of $$$$$$$$$$$$$$ and/or threats of blackmail will move the vulnerable

I don’t get people’s fascination with “cancel the next election”. The election is run by the states, who fill many other offices at the same time as the preznit slot. Why would they pay any attention to the tinpot rantings of the very stable genius? If some GOP-run states do go along and skip their vote, well, the electoral college doesn’t have any quorum rules and the democratic majority just got that much easier.

One is about to be shoved on Mitch’s doorstep and the other is ‘dancing’ to pay his legal bills.

Many States have already canceled the Republican primary.

Ill take either option

Do you really think that Americans wouldn’t be upset if they tried to keep white people from voting?

Yeah.

A 100% pure, rice bowl issue for Parscale. Seeing his personal gravy train parsnipped and put out of business. Watch out for preference payment clawbacks, Bradster!

I think this is actually more of a coop rhetoric and a lot of these supposedly tough guys will be flying the coop when they realize all the chicken shit stuff Donald has done is being exposed because they are all a bunch of chickens.

By this standard, the electoral college is a coup every time it elects a POTUS who failed to win the popular vote, thereby taking the power away from the people.

Boy, they love their militaristic talk, don’t they?

False equivalence. The courts give political parties wide lattitude in their means of selecting their candidates. They can use astrology if they want. Rodents seeing their shadows. The right number of freckles. Doesn’t matter. Nothing to do with the requirement to hold an election in november.

Also, the (five) “States” didn’t cancel their presidential primary, the Republican Party in those five states canceled their primary due to their choosing to go with the incumbent. They still hold their primary elections for candidates for other offices.

Thanks for the explanation of the difference between primaries and the general election.
