Rep. Tony Gonzales (R-TX) dropped his reelection bid Thursday night, just a day after publicly acknowledging he had an affair with a former staff member who later died by suicide. “After deep reflection and with the support of my loving family, I have decided not to seek re-election while serving out the rest of this…
“With the support of my loving family?” Yeah, right.
“Since then, I’ve reconciled with my wife Angel,” he added. “I’ve asked God to forgive me, which he has.”
Apparently Gonzales has now become a spokesman for God. Such a dramatic turnaround for him. It’s a miracle!
“Since then, I’ve reconciled with my wife Angel,” he added. “I’ve asked God to forgive me, which he has.”
- He’s sleeping on the couch
- Anything in writing from this ‘God’ fella?
God has forgive me for all the crimes I committed so don’t you think it’s a little bit weird that anyone else wants to?
Herrera doesn’t sound like an improvement in the House, sadly. He seems like the male version of my congresscritter Boebert.
“I’ve asked God to forgive me, which he has.”
I’ve asked God to forgive my car loan, but so far no dice. But this nimrod gets a pass?
Well looky HERE
DOJ releases missing Epstein files related to a woman who made an allegation against Trump
The Justice Department on Thursday released previously unseen documents from the Epstein files that included new summaries and notes from interviews the FBI conducted with a woman from South Carolina who made allegations against the late sex offender and President Donald Trump, according to an NBC News analysis.
In a series of 2019 interviews with the FBI, the woman said she was a sexual assault victim of Jeffrey Epstein. She also alleged that she was assaulted by Trump in the 1980s when she was between the ages of 13 and 15.
The newly released interviews describe the allegations in detail. They include how the woman says her mother was blackmailed by Epstein and that. for years after the alleged abuse from the disgraced financier, she received physical and verbal threats that she believed were directed by Epstein. She also told the FBI that Epstein “drove her and/or flew her to either New York or New Jersey” where she went to a “very tall building with huge rooms” where she said Trump sexually assaulted her, according to the FBI interview summaries.
I love the totally predictable path these pols & preachers scurry back to for magical pardons from some deity. Then the spouse chimes in and he’s good. He would say that wouldn’t he?
No confession. No apology. GOP SOP.
This from the party of “family values” and “personal responsibility?” Bwahahahaha!!
See, that right there is the problem. Clearly this was Kamala Harris’ fault. Asking for forgiveness (at least verbally) implies taking responsibility for the wrongs you have done. A real manly man would have resigned and said that the crazy leftist media was hounding him and that he was the real victim. Amateur.
So the mid-decade redistricting made Tony Gonzales’s district more Republican? That ain’t how it’s supposed to work. The gerrymanderers should have been taking voters out of the very red districts like those of Gonzales and appending them to light blue districts.
Either he’s confused, or the Texas Gerrymanderists are not competent.
Okay, that’s “interstate trafficking”, which took down a NY AG a few decades back, destroying his political career and dreams of the Presidency.
Of course, he was a Democrat.
Funny how Gonzales stayed in the primary, and then when he didn’t win outright Johnson et al decided that Gonzales was liability.
Give it a few years for the headlines to fade and he can start over with a new campaign and get to know his potential constituents. Maybe throw another barbeque.
Doesn’t he deserve at least SOME credit for having at least two loved ones that DIDN’T light themselves on fire? Several presumably rational adults were given a choice between the most painful death many of us can imagine and Tony Gonzales. A few of these people chose Tony! Do we really need to get all judgement-y about this?
“I would like to thank Speaker Johnson and House leadership for holding Congressman Tony Gonzales accountable for actions that have tarnished the office,”
“…having first tried, and failed at, every available alternative.”
Now let’s see if “yee haw full auto” will be enough to win the district in a wave election.
I’m so sorry. I thought for some reason you were in Michigan.
It’s not so bad. Just ask JD Vance (Dang. I got no shame).
Thanks for closing the loop on that. ![]()
