The timing of Johnson’s letter to Herrera gives the game away. Johnson wants to force the GOP voters in the district to have no other GOP choice than Herrrra. If Johnson had forced Gonzales out before the primary as he should have done, the GOP primary voters would have had a true choice of who they wanted their nominee to be.

So he asked God and God forgave him?

How do we know that’s true? We already know he’s a liar, why should we believe him? Because he said so, a known liar is telling the truth this time?

How does he know God has forgiven him? What format did it take, a letter, a burning bush, a posting from the biggest liar’s failed social media site? His wife took him back because he begged her and bought her a new Mercedes?

I mean, on what basis should we believe this liar? And has he said anything about the horrific way that poor woman took her life?

It’s good that he isn’t going to be in office for another term, but really, he needs to get the hell out of Congress now. It isn’t because he cheated on his wife, or lied about it, it’s because it speaks to his judgement and character, that he communicated with God and got a big :+1: and he took advantage of a woman who must have been vulnerable or troubled enough to take her life in such a way. My condolences to her family.

Republicans, they are so far down the rabbit shit hole it defies our comprehension.

So Johnson is OK with Gonzales staying in Congress until January 3 but not longer? Will he be a worse person after January 3 than he is now?

The House ethics committee is investigating but the facts are no longer in dispute. He violated a House rule against having sex with a staff member. The committee should recommend his expulsion. I am not sure they will.

This district is going to have a candidate quality problem, Herrera is pretty awful. That gives the Democrats a chance at another pickup, especially if there is a wave…if Republican voters and leaners really feel down they aren’t going to come out and vote, and independents might turn there back on Herrera.
