Belgium saw things getting out of hand last month and locked down. Now the burden on the health system is lightening. No country is happy with covid, but others listen better to their epidemiologists than the US.

If I got the story straight, the Qataris signed a $1.1 billion dollar, 99 year lease deal for 666 with Kushner and his pals. Kushner’s purchase of 666 was considered the worst Manhattan real estate deal since the Native Indians sold it for $24.
Most incredibly the Qataris paid all the money up front!!!
And isn’t it nice he and Ivanka are not taking a salary as senior WH advisors.

I think you’re suggesting that Trumper types will not get vaccinated, and this makes sense to me. I said I wouldn’t take any vaccine until Trump’s out of office and it’s Biden’s administration in charge. Putting that shoe on the other foot, which is where I think it will go, that means we’ll have Trumpers maskless and refusing vaccines for the foreseeable future.

Is that a bad thing?

I felt that way too, but now that we’re post-election and Trump has nothing to gain by introducing a vaccine at this point, I think I’ll get it when one is available to me. I don’t believe he has had anything to do with it’s development or the emergency authorization process by which it may become available.

But it’s ludicrous we literally have to consider a President’s motivations and the degree of his corruption when deciding on what’s best for our health as individuals.

The thing I am seeing frequently, even with my daughter, is a belief that as as long as you are doing one thing you are doing enough. In other words, if you are meeting with your friends outside and socially distancing, you don’t need a mask. Or conversely, if you are wearing a mask social distancing is not as important.

The way this thing is raging and with the number of unmasked idiots still pouring into stores, I figure I am about 50-50 on whether I get the vaccine or the infection first.

Utah has passed the peak of our post-Halloween spike, though hospital capacity remains maxed out. Thanksgiving is likely to produce another spike soon.

Oy vey. I honestly think that, even with cheap, widely available 95%-effective vaccines, which these shit-for-brains morans will then refuse to get, we’ll never see a light at the end of the tunnel that isn’t another oncoming train.
