Several members of the White House coronavirus task force issued dire warnings on Sunday as they anticipated increasing rates of COVID-19 cases as a result of Thanksgiving travel.

Just checked yesterday, two days after Thanksgiving, and the infection rate in Pennsylvania has gone to four times what it was at the worst time in the spring. Four times. Death rate far lower, thank God, by virtue I suppose of a great deal of practice in dealing with this. But it’s staggering to look at that curve shooting up.
Overwhelming of the hospitals and healthcare workers is the issue now. In order to take advantage of that experience, there has to be beds and hospital staff available.

When Fauci says “avoid congregate settings,” he assumes, wrongly, that people know what that means.

Where “a little bit longer” means 3-6 months befor vaccination starts significantly affecting community transmission. More like a year before the pandemic is under control in most places in the US.
