My doctor told me in March that he hadn’t yet gotten the vaccine, taking abundant time to explain that he was waiting for more data or some such nonsense. And he’d convinced his staff to not get it too, including a young assistant with two little kids. Last week I got a recorded call from him that both he and his assistant have covid, that they were exposed 9 days earlier. Two days later he was admitted to the hospital (he’s in his early fifties). I don’t know if he’s still alive or on a ventilator. His assistant was also very sick, though I don’t know if she ended up in the hospital. Assuming it was the delta variant, can you imagine how many of his patients he exposed before he got sick? He must have been very contagious for at least a few days. If I were one of his patients who come down with covid after being exposed to him I would seriously consider a malpractice suit. I haven’t seen him since March, and I will never see him again because I’ve found a new doctor, thank you very much. I feel bad for his assistant, but find my well of sympathy quite dry when it comes to him.
