Gohmert Didn’t Get Anywhere Near $1M Goal For Texas AG Bid. Yet He Proudly Claimed He Did

You may recall when Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) promised on Nov. 9 that he’d challenge Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton if he raised $1 million in 10 days, then followed up on Nov. 23 and victoriously announced that he did that?

Trump helped him launder the rubles into dollars. So, 100% legit funding now.

Dunno what’s the problem here. That’s $9.7 million Zimbabwean dollars at current exchange rates, far surpassing his goal. And to raise that in just 10 days? Absolute mandate for his running.

Golly, there are so many questions to be answered here. By my reckoning, from November 9 to November 23 spans 14 days, not 10. (If you count November 9, as perhaps you should, it’s 15 days. In any event it isn’t 10 days.)

Also Louie, was that contribution from Save Texas Now a commitment you received during your fund-raising campaign, or did Save Texas Now bail your sorry ass out at year’s end.

And a final comment to the people of the State of Insanity Texas: it should be plainly obvious that the best place for Louie, Louie1 is anywhere except public office.

Most of his haul came from six-figure donations by a pair of state reps. (Texas has no limits for donations to candidates for state and local office.) Per the Dallas Morning News, the money came from those reps’ own campaign funds.

So, they want to replace Paxton with Gohmert, because Paxton isn’t corrupt enough?

Or isn’t dumb enough?

We shouldn’t be surprised. A man who can’t count to six without using both hands can’t be expected to tell the difference between 27,000 and 1 million.

So, amongst Louie’s other shortcomings, he doesn’ know how to count. Good qualifications for the second-highest elected position in the land. Voters of Texas, do your thing!
