A lot of things happened. Here are some of the things.
The Census Bureau will release its redistricting data today, kicking off the inevitable fight over partisan gerrymandering ahead of the 2022 elections.
Rudy announces he’s a liar. I’ll file that under ‘No shit’. What really got me was Mukasey interjecting multiple times “There’s no obligation to tell the truth. There’s no obligation to be honest.” Hmmm…Maybe not a legal obligation, but what about your obligation to the American people.
As for Alex Azar, an adjunct faculty member isn’t really a plum assignment. It does normalize him, but it’s not all that it’s cracked up to be.
An investigation determined the landing was not an emergency.
Police said a passenger left the helicopter and went into a nearby Dairy Queen restaurant to buy an ice cream cake.
Kiara Broeckel, who works at the Dairy Queen, said store employees didn’t know the customer had arrived by helicopter until the RCMP news release.
Since then, she said town residents have visited to ask if there is going to be another fly by and if the ice cream cakes are really worth a helicopter trip.
“Apparently they are,” Ms. Broeckel said. “I wouldn’t think you would take a helicopter to go get ice cream, but I guess some people do.”
Sadly, IMO, it won’t be much of a battle, the Feds have done next to nothing to suppress the restrictive voting laws implemented by the states, and there are far too many states where the GOP hods control of the redistricting.
Reality is breaking through to people regarding covid-19 and the January 6th Insurrection. Still a long way to go and I am expecting much political Kabuki Theater from both the progressive and conservative Democratic wings, but that feels (and is) normal and I trust Biden and his team along with Pelosi and Schumer and their teams.
Federal investigations always appear to be agonizingly slow, but that’s appropriate in the long run.
And the multi-tasking continues (wow, it’s nice to have adults back in charge):
And let’s challenge the tactics of the Republican Party and their media outlets:
Stay involved and maintain control of the narrative - we can address more issues than just one, and that will make the Republican Party leadership crump. They’ve forgotten how to come up with ideas that benefit all decades ago, and only have lies. Keep up the pressure.
The bulk of the Republican Party is at war with the U.S. Constitution and all who try to uphold it. And, they are complicit with Vladimir Putin in trying to stoke that war by overtly and covertly dividing Americans.
