Georgia Republicans Seem To Defy Judge In Producing New Map That Maintains Lopsided Control

The Republican-majority Georgia legislature passed a final congressional map Thursday, ignoring — or at least, challenging — a federal judge’s warnings in order to maintain their cushy 9-5 House seat split with Democrats.

Right back to Reconstruction-era “Redeemer” southern rule. White Nationalist effrontery.

The GOP has completely adopted the Donald Trump Playbook at every level: Defy, Pretend to Comply and Delay until any corrective changes are impossible to put in place in a timely manner. *&^%$#!

The way you get to change the rules is you can afford a room full of shits to rewrite them. Rich vs Poor. Again.

I saw Kash Patel mentioned as head of the CIA, and I thought that was bad. Stephen Miller as Atty General, or Tucker Carlson in the White House in any capacity whatseover, those are real nightmare fuel.

Not just the inmates running the asylum, but actually the inmates who got to run it and burned down the first asylum being brought back to run the rebuilt asylum, with a gasoline truck parked in the driveway, and being handed a Zippo lighter along with the keys.

Off topic, but more of the same Republican crap:

OK, it has been transparent for some for decades and now most who can think since the Trump presidency and aftermath that the Republican Party no longer gives a damn about the Constitution or laws, rules and orders if these barriers prevent them from doing whatever they want. I’ve had enough. The wackos are normalizing such pathetic behavior. Time to push back. This is not acceptable.

The Courts move slowing, but they do move forward:

It is not inevitable that Trump will win the Republican Party’s nomination, let alone the Presidency. He and his sycophants just want everyone to believe it so they give up or curl up into a ball and don’t participate in the election. Use your voice to push back. And make damn sure you and your love ones vote. Democracy wins when everyone participates.

Now that it’s clear there are no consequences for nullifying a court order, they can and will do whatever the fuck they want. Is a single one of them going to prison over this? Or lose their cushy gigs? Of course not. So hold up a middle finger and tell the court to kiss your white ass. Democracy is as precarious as a gentleman’s agreement and the right has proudly shown the world that they’re not gentlemen.

Georgia is in the 11th Circuit, so there’s apparently binding precedent that says McBath’s district gets protected.

“The official slogan of OPPRESSION; just because it makes you feel uncomfortable doesn’t mean it has to change”, John Stewart.

They, and I mean those that have used White resentment to gain power and then use that power to benefit themselves at the expense of those who gave them that power while all the time scapegoating minorities, are not going to give up power and all the benefits that go with it without exhausting all avenues to hold that power and those benefits.

Hopefully they will at some point, be it begrudgingly, accept a liberal multi-cultural America before taking up arms against America. Furthermore, while Trump may have exploited this problem, he did not start it. Rather, this has been the real fight that has been going on within America since the founding of the nation and it sure looks like it will continue into the forceable future. .

Donald Trump filed notice on Thursday saying he will appeal [a D.C. judge’s ruling that he was not immune from being charged with federal crimes for his efforts to undo the outcome of the 2020 election, either by his former role as president or the Constitution’s rules for impeachment.

This is my shocked face. Just waiting for SCROTUS to say it’s too close to the election to change the map, so it’s all fine and dandy.
