Georgia Republicans See Writing on the Wall

Georgia Republicans Drop Gerrymandering — At Least Til November The official reason that Georgia Republican leaders cite in their letter to Gov. Brian Kemp (R) announcing their decision to drop plans to redraw the state’s congressional district lines for 2028 ahead of the midterms is pending litigation in the state. Republican officials expected the map…

I sincerely cannot wait to hear the spin when the full and official text of this memorandum hits the airwaves.

Just the pieces and portions we’ve heard about so far have generated a lot of negative. When the real thing comes out, all hell will break loose.

Note to Warsh… It’s one thing to be on the sidelines, it’s another thing to be in charge. Good luck when things don’t always go the way you think they should go.

That assumes it will last long enough for people to criticize it. There are so many vested interests who have already sunk so much into getting a big win and who will be loathe to accept this dog’s breakfast.

Or, “The Art of the Shlemiel.” TACO = Trump Always Chickens Out! Donnie is a stupid embarrassment.

Will Trump fire him when he gets back from the G7?

Republican legislators in Georgia are aware their efforts — and the broader ones across the South to erase Black voting power

“we owe it to the voters that elected us to deliver on this critical issue.”

Kind of sounds like Georgia hasn’t purged its voter rolls since the 1860s.

Especially as inflation continues to climb. Rising jobs numbers won’t really help Warsh’s narrative if food prices keep going up. Rate cuts in the near future would create an upside down economic scenario. I fully expect these new task forces of his to be gaming all the numbers all the time. No one will trust them.

“regime change”

Republican-speak for “Big Government”.

Funny how states don’t ever have to go through regime change. States work their processes.

It’s only in the federal government where the sky is falling and the whole damn country is going into the crapper. And everybody needs to give up their personal freedom and their states’ rights to federal …power.

So much for the “pottery barn”….

From the way he looked at the G7 meeting, Shitler won’t live to see the end of the 60-day period in the MOU. We can only hope.

My father, newly married, was granted a trailer as his living quarters when China Lake was being built in the 1950s. To really rub in the luxury of his windfall he also planted a row of cannas and doused them with phosphorus from his lab. They grew, according to legend, to a height of 12 feet and even provided shade for the trailer.

The refurb of the Reflecting Pool is not just a display of incompetence or a symbol of the corruption of government procurement processes.

It also reveals widespread ignorance of basic limnology – biological, chemical, physical, and I’m gonna say it, geological. Water chemistry tests repeatedly show elevated phosphate levels, the primary nutrient fueling explosive algae growth.

The beauty is that we have a teachable moment about phosphorus – Earth’s biomass regulator.

While bird poop is an issue for the pool keepers, the bulk of phosphate problems come from waters with high phosphate content. This has long been recognized in the DC area and dealt with.

Perhaps we will finally see politicians making the connection between the Reflecting Pool and why Chesapeake Bay is a dead zone. Moreover, eutrophication feeds the methane cycle. Pound for pound, methane is a significantly more powerful greenhouse gas than CO2. Methane, which is released from rotting biomatter on sea and lake bottoms and algae blooms, absorbs much more energy while it is in the atmosphere.

Warsh is a nepo appointment. Ronald Lauder, Warsh’s father-in-law, has long been friends with Trump. Trump’s Greenland and Israel plans would really have to go sideways for those two to cut ties. More immediately, one has to wonder if Trump will bother to take in some World Cup games.

Australian World Cup fans were caught chanting:
“Aussie boys are on a bender, Donald Trump is a sex offender.”

And it’s still more polite than English fans:

“He’s fat… with piles..he’s in the Epstein files…
Trump the cuuunt…Trump the cuuuunnt!!”
