Originally published at: George Santos Pleads Guilty To Federal Charges
The personal story George Santos told en route to winning a seat in the U.S. House of Representatives was filled with incredible — and incredibly false — chapters. In Santos’ telling, he was a multimillionaire, a veteran of some of Wall Street’s most elite firms, and a college volleyball star whose family survived the Holocaust.…
Congrats to TPM and it’s intrepid reporters!
I would wish him well for being honest (for once) and farewell in prison. But I’m not that nice.
Hard not to feel sorry for the guy. How many of us have had to deal with their mother dying. And then dying a second time. And then dying a third time? There but for the grace of god and math go I.
Wait for the character references.
Lock him up.
Every Wednesday is Corndog Night!
(And the Norse Boys in Cell Block C are quite welcoming to newcomers.)
From what I hear people say, George wants to forget about all the trouble he’s caused and hook up with his old band….
Well George - we barely knew you.
I hear Club Fed has tasty food and probably a lot of people you have something in common with. Maybe you will make some new friends in the Big House. You just never know !!
Their door is always open for another Fascionista.
I could ghost-write a political espionage novel for this guy by the weekend.
Hopefully you’ll run into Bob Menendez.
“You might very well think that; I couldn’t possibly comment"
Nothing in the story about drag, nothing about the dog charity he ran, nothing about his mother dying in the 9/11 attacks, nothing about his legal entanglements in Brazil, nothing about his closest friends in Congress–and yet, we have to stop somewhere, right?
I commend Hunter Walker and all of TPM for digging up and staying on this story in its many mutations. Does his conviction in 2024 mean he is still eligible for a Golden Dukes award this year, too?
Again, this is someone douchebags see, and say, “What a Douchebag!”
I think Santos has earned some sort of Golden Duke Emeritus status.
A prison cell with your name on it awaits you, George. Buh bye.
Wonders will never cease to amaze…
During a court appearance, Santos pleaded guilty to wire fraud and aggravated identity theft
Yeah, if I was the real George Santos, I would be pretty aggravated too.
Why is he going to be sentenced next year? That’s months away. Why is it so hard to sentence a guilty person?
