George Santos Becomes Sixth House Member Ever To Be Expelled From Congress

Well, it’s hardly the first house he’s been thrown out of.

Just a damn shooting star of corruption and greed. The ultimate Rep of style over substance. Farewell Santos, you ridiculous human being.

“Santos, wearing a coat and watching the totals accumulate, walked around the House floor and shook hands with some of his supporters.” Wait, he has supporters?

The Dem campaign ads write themselves, don’t they?

OK Georgie, time to spill the beans about the House Republican cocaine orgies and such. Want to get more press attention? That’ll do it.

Two Democrats voted against expelling Rep. George Santos from the House.

They were Bobby Scott of Virginia and Nikema Williams of Georgia.

Fine, I guess, but I’m curious about their reasons. If it’s because he hasn’t been convicted in a court of law, that’s ridiculous. There’s plenty of public evidence about what he did, his constituents want him gone and he’s not going to prison as a result of this vote. This is one of those times where a congressional rule about how it conducts itself makes perfect sense.

It’s true that the House has never expelled a member while being uncertain who that member actually is. I don’t think that came out quite as noble-sounding as Matty “Statutory Rapist” Gaetz intended it to.

It’s also cute how leadership defended him to the last. They create deeper barrels with harder to reach bottoms constantly.

The entirety of the House R leadership has bigger things to worry about than whether one of their own is a criminal, because that goes without saying.

I wonder how much his campaign buttons and posters will be worth in 10 years?

He was a reliable vote and his likely replacement is a Democrat. Mr. Johnson’s margin of error will now be one vote smaller.

No surprise House Republican leadership would vote their own power over expelling a corrupt and criminal Rep. It’s their MO.

Oh, George Anthony Devolder Santos, we hardly knew ye. Also, buh-bye.

I wonder when George will start talking about all the bad things his fellow repubs have been doing? You just know he will try to get even by revealing all the crap the repubs do every day in office.

Hi! To find out what I can do, say @discobot display help.

Or they fell victim to HandWringingitis, a debilitating affliction that somehow only effects Democrats. It causes the victim to worry so much about what Republicans might do in the future, they cave to Republicans in the present.
