Garland Threatens To Sue TX Guv Over Order Against Driving Undocumented People | Talking Points Memo

I went looking for the Texas blue laws. I didn’t realize the set I was familiar only began in 1961. But I do remember on the weekend heading to the hardware store for something and realizing I couldn’t buy it. Being it was usually a home repair issue, it was annoying as hell. Something like you could buy the hammer but not the nails.

In terms of alcohol, I never was really concerned with that. I just figured it slowed down the folks still partying from the night before.

The CDC document presents that vaccinated people can spread the virus. And Delta can spread more easily than the previous versions of the virus.
Let’s all love our masks.

Assholes, the whole of em…

They resist the vaccine that will save them like they resist single payer Healthcare that will similarly extend their life.

In both cases, the more affluent blue states will foot a sizable part of the bill and would be happy to if they would simply cooperate

…a new order from the governor’s office prohibiting non-law enforcement officers from…

Does it matter?

Republicans won’t be told to wear no masks. But they sure as hell have the right to poke their noses into everybody’s business. What else will the governor order from “non-law enforcement officers”? (Who? Me?)

Republicans love big government. And remember, they have trillions of spare dollars   : - )

Fuck Texas. Let the imbeciles secede. They’ll be trump’s favorite Third World shithole within a month, and begging for a handout within a year. Fuck them all.

Imagine if a bunch of Texas legislators were just as mean and spiteful as him and said “You know we need to make it harder for Governor Abbott and his fellow wheelchair and crutches bound folks to get around”. “After all they’re such a darn burden on the state”.

I can hear the Trump assholes now saying as one, “Not the right citizens…”

A few days ago, I posted that both vaccinated and the unvaccinated can spread the Delta virus and that its viral load could be up to 1,200 times higher than the original strain. And people will test positive two days sooner after contacting the Delta variant than with the original strain. That information has been out there for a while if one looked.

Why the fuck does it take the CDC a month to reach the conclusion everyone here did a month ago? It’s like watching an ocean liner make a three point turn.

I agree, this has been in the wind for several days now. That viral load difference is a game changer alone. Pretty much guarantees the unmasked are going to bring a cloud along with them for everyone to share.

Benefit of the doubt on this one. They have to present this information very carefully now. Their critics are jumping on any opportunity to denigrate the CDC. One way is to ignore that information is developing as they go, coupled with a radically changed version of the virus. Giving their opposition the ability to spread doubt and misinformation will end in hospitalizations and deaths. So trying to balance all of that has to be pure stress at the moment.

There’s this thing were people don’t believe until the CDC says it. I do remember hearing that vaccinated people could spread the virus, that they weren’t sure how much load that they could carry, but they could still spread.
I don’t know why it seems that it hasn’t stuck in people’s heads that getting vaccinated isn’t going to protect you from the virus, it’s suppose to protect you if you get infected from serious illness, and for the majority of people keep you out of the hospital. Then the reporting in break through infections came out, and it was reported that even if you’re vaccinated your changes of getting infected with COVID go up if you live around people who aren’t vaccinated.
I can only think that the people who need to hear this aren’t getting this info, don’t trust it if they do, and we are where are now.

The public perception of them is already hopelessly politicized from the Redfield days. They may as well go straight and true and damn the consequences.

I’m going to add that it’s been shown to me that there are a lot of people who don’t understand pandemics, viruses, and how to deal with both. They don’t seem to understand that a virus’ sole purpose is to infect a host, move on, replicate, and with replication can change.

So going back to the CDC and messaging and now understanding that we live amongst morons, yes they have to be very, very careful to understand what’s going on, and they report on what’s going on. And now that Trump the Republicans have politized every aspect of the pandemic they have to try and deliver a clear message.

He needed to go just one step further and stipulate that anyone acting under the Governor’s unlawful authority will be subject to Civil Rights action and each count will apply the Governor as a co-defendant.

6/1/21 was a seminal moment in history. It’s like where you where when you heard that JFK was shot, or Bobby, MLK, or the Challenger disaster, or 9/11… You remember all the details surrounding the dramatic/traumatic news.

Jordan did not speak to Trump before the insurrection because if he did, he could easily recall that. “I was speaking with him matter of factly that very morning.”

No. He is equivocating because he spoke with him during the insurrection and he fears having to speak of that conversation because both speakers will come out of it properly soiled.
