Gaetz Blames Florida’s Spike In COVID Cases On ‘Strategic’ Testing | Talking Points Memo

Matt Gaetz (R-FL) echoed on Sunday what’s become a familiar GOP excuse for the appearance of a large number of positive coronavirus cases in his state: more testing. But now, it’s not just more testing that’s to blame, it’s an uptick in “strategic” testing that targets areas where a high incidence of the virus is expected that has caused record-setting caseloads of the virus in the Southern state.

Nonsense… we all know the blame belongs on strategic assholiness. These days it’s something the GOP specializes in.

It’s a good thing that he is not in charge of much of anything and that Republicans are a Minority in The House.

Gaetz is the Prince of Strategic Assholery. I didn’t have to look to know that it was Faux News interviewing him - everyone else seems to have learned their lesson and are keeping him at microphone length.

You know Matt, you could take the same enthusiasm you’re using to avoid the stigma of high case counts in efforts to get the testing up even higher to properly identify, contain and eliminate the virus.

I think those things are all very helpful,” Gaetz said. “But the absolute radical approach to shutting things down hasn’t worked really anywhere, and I don’t suspect that that will be the plan that we return to in Florida.”

It’s interesting that he can’t see a difference between reasonable public health measures like washing hands and “the absolute radical approach to shutting things down.”

If Matt Gaetz speaks, does the rest of the dayroom listen?

Well, Doctor Gaetz, how do you explain Korea’s success? Not to mention, closer to home, New York and Massachusetts?

Meathead.

@bdtex C’mon. He did a great job getting those pizzas ordered in.

Where the inkling from my comment above originated.
The Fox screenshot so reminded of Dan Ackroyd’s SNL Point/Counterpoint character.
Perhaps? More accurate had I gone with–

Matt, you pompous ass…

They are going to be a minority in the Senate, too. In fact, the national party is going to look like the impotent California GOP pretty soon.

I guess strategic testing is better then the strategic COVID non-reporting they were doing before
