PARIS — The French government is sending riot police to the Marseille region to help enforce mask requirements, as more and more towns and neighborhoods are imposing mask rules starting Monday to slow rising infections.

Other countries are taking this pandemic seriously…but in Trumpian AmeriKKKa, we are constantly told “it will magically disappear”.

Belarus news changing from hour to hour now. Earlier today Lukashenko said he would not allow another new election unless he was dead. Opposition said they’d take that deal! Lukashenko now is ready to discuss “power sharing”. Called Putin again. Estonia is concerned that the disruption in Belarus could spread to poorer Ukraine and cause “regional destabilization”. Looking at possibility of general strike in Belarus.

We are only beginning to know the toll the virus takes on the body – and the healthcare costs down the line are going to be astronomical. This is not going to end well.

France Sending Riot Police To Southern Region To Enforce Mask-Wearing
As always the cheese-munching surrender monkeys get it all wrong, the riot police is for beating up darkies, not to trample on the freedom to be a srelfish jerk.

Estonia knows what the hell they are talking about, especially when it comes to Russia. Horrible what Russia did to them and that’s what Putin wants to do to the rest of the world.

I wonder if Americans can get in via coming from another country. Like we used to do going to Cuba.
The Estonians are remarkable.
UPDATE: Lukashenko has agreed to new elections.

Thanks, we lost electricity here at 9am and may not get it back until 12:30 - 1, so I’m rearranging my day. No storms or anything so who knows.
5 mins later: Oh yay…love when I speak too soon and something good actually happens…electricity back on!

Is there a country that would allow Americans to come in and try that? I doubt it. All of France’s bordering countries wouldn’t be a willing partner. Of course the rich and famous do what they want so there’s that element of scumbag that doesn’t give a hoot.

Yep, just cruise the yacht over that way and take the little boat on to shore. There are a few places that don’t have restrictions, S. America probably has some.

Yup. Marseille is a pretty feisty city. Even here in Paris, you find many who don’t seem to understand that wearing a mask helps to keep the shops open, etc. I really don’t like the translation of “riot police”, but I guess the CRS (French term) are used for demonstrations, etc. 130 are being sent. More for educational purposes, for the moment. Quite confusing where to wear a mask (though I wear it all the time outside). Part of my street, mask obligatory. My part of the street, nada. I feel there is a mishandling, to say it mildly, of making it understood that wearing a mask is for everyone’s good. Paris is cut up into ever increasing zones (can change almost by day) of where a mask is obligatory. But no signs are up yet. Most people are still on vacation until next week. School starts after that. Anti-masking trolling is becoming stronger and stronger here with social media.

Welllll, I would say they are most French tourists… We are all staying pretty much in France this year.
That’s why they are sending the riot police there, it’s the most ethnically-diverse city in France.

I am legitimately heartened to learn that there are moronic assholes in France too. Makes me feel better about having all these moronic assholes here in America.
