Fox’s Laura Ingraham Blames Shootings On Reefer Madness

A lot of things happened. Here are some of the things. This is TPM’s Morning Memo (also happy Pride Month! 🏳️‍🌈).

Herschel Walker reminds me of the recent news that Bruce Willis has been propped up by users and abusers in recent years to keep getting money out of him despite his declining health.

Uvalde’s mayor, by swearing in Arredondo without a public ceremony and (apparently) passively-aggressively approving his police department’s not cooperating with the DPS, seems hell-bent on utterly destroying his town, and whatever stature as a leader that he might have had.

Can’t imagine El Duderino shooting up a school.

The right wing media seems to have trained its viewers and readers so well that it can now simply rely on conditioned response. Just throw out words like ‘leftist’, ‘radical’, ‘coastal’, ‘elite’, and ‘mainstream media’ and they can get the desired reaction. They aren’t even really making an effort to construct logical arguments anymore.

Bullshit started already
Two dads of the “same dead girl”.
Two different networks caught in the same lie.

Another MAGA conspiracy theory implodes: Arizona man was not an FBI plant to stage Jan. 6 attack after all (msn.com)

Fox has trained Grandpa so well he has become a Pavlovian dog who will salivate upon any of a number of cues.

Ingraham and the rest of Fox can go straight to hell. She and her coworkers pushed the Great Replacement Theory and a few White guys have believed it and gone on shooting sprees. I can’t think of how brainwashed an 18 year old had to be to believe that his young ass was going to be replaced by Middle-aged and older Black people who lived more than 200 miles away.

Fox and Republicans have to blame everything else but their own work at loosing restrictions on guns. They can’t say, “we were wrong.” Fuck, Abbott went so far as to say it could have been worse. I don’t know- if I had a child that survived that ordeal in Uvalde, and I had to deal with the trauma inflicted on my child, I don’t know if it could have been worse. Ingraham, Fox and the Right attacked survivors of the Parkland Shooting because they tried to turn their trauma and anger into positive action. They will probably do the same to the Uvalde families as well- that’s how soulless the Right has become.

Someone should probably remind Laura of the Republicans and Rightwingers currently benefitting from legalized Weed.

Don’t forget “antifa, “socialism,” “BLM,” and “CRT.”

That is supposedly what contributed to Elvis’s early demise – people not wanting to give up their meal ticket.

Isn’t he the one who called Beto a “sick son of a bitch” for disrupting the campaign rally–oops, my mistake, presser?
He seems nice. I’m sure he just wants to find the truth.

  • Ingraham complained on Tuesday night that not enough people were talking about what she called “the pot psychosis-violent behavior connection.” The reason for that, according to the Fox host, is because of Big Pot perpetuating a “pro-marijuana bias” in the media “that’s so powerful because billions are on the line with it nationwide.”

That idea would be fine if the testing on the shooters’ remains found that they were higher than a kite. I don’t think anything has ever been shown on that topic. She’s making this up out of her back end.

Example #1

At the NRA Convention someone told us that hammers are used to kill more people than guns. So we looked up the stats in front of them. pic.twitter.com/ju5R8Pqbvk

Yup.

That day, I’d wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt for his behavior: raw emotions, and all that. Now, though, not so much.

I saw a reference to a Fox video clip from early April (didn’t click on it myself, so not sure it’s true) in which the mayor (IIRC) of Uvalde said that the events coming on May 23 were going to be absolutely wild - apparently in reference to the expected rollback of Rule 42 at the border. Makes you go, “hmmmmmmm.”

Is there a viler, more cowardly and loathsome liar, grifter and scumbucket than basically any random Repub? For every Blago or Weiner, there are 500 Ingrahams, Goetzes & Trumps. They’re not bottom-feeders. They’re ass-feeders. Same thing, I guess?

Guy basically makes up a stat.
Guy is proven wrong.
Guy says, basically, my larger point–that the 2A “is important to me”–still stands independent of my made-up stat.
