Speaking of drugs. Here’s something Democrats should look at. The idea is to allow someone a small amounts of drugs so disfranchised groups aren’t stigmatized and incarcerated at the high rates they are now.

Yet Another Texas Police Claim About Uvalde Shooting Unravels - so what REALLY happened? Both linked sites are behind a paywall. NPR also has it - apparenlty the teacher, still unnamed, was carrying in some food from their car and propped the door with a rock.
They saw the shooter crash near the school, called 911, removed the rock from the door, and closed it. The door did not lock as it should have. The investigation by FBI is looking into the issue as a mechanical failure.
So tiny brain ted cruise… this is why a mechanical solution is a poor remedy to a social problem. Mechanisms fail and then will people die. Be better.

Following reports that Arredondo wouldn’t be sworn in, McLaughlin said in a statement on Monday that “there is nothing in the City Charter, Election Code, or Texas Constitution that prohibits him from taking the oath of office. To our knowledge, we are currently not aware of any investigation of Mr. Arredondo.”

As much as I agree, I’m saddened too. It’s likely only a matter of time before one of them - already wracked with guilt - implodes his or her life and possibly commits suicide. Not everyone standing in that hallway is walking away from this untouched … perhaps none of them are. I hope they reach out for the help they need.

I guess I am a little confused at who or what is a police force. My understanding is that Arredondo is head of the school district police force. I am uncertain whether the school district police force has anything to do with the city police force, perhaps they are the same?
