Out of those running I think Warren would likely be the best to try to tackle some of that.

Barr is blatantly using his office to cover-up crimes and further his personal political agenda, which is a crime. The Next Dem. AG needs to investigate Barr and put him in jail.

Hopefully that would include those at the DOJ.

What is this country coming to when a hero like Flynn is treated with “grossly prejudicial” representation of his treason? Don’t you know that you can only commit treason with an email server?

At this point, given the dysfunctional judiciary we have, I predict not only will Flynn walk, but he will be part of the CREEP (those oldsters like me will remember what that stood for in the 70s).

He knows the pardon is coming.

You sure? Manafort’s still rotting in prison, and he kept his mouth shut and stayed loyal to Trump.

While the press can’t spill enough ink on the ‘disfunctional’ democratic Iowa Caucus, they have no problem ignoring the complete and total injustice of letting this sellout escape accountability for what is now going on nearly 4 years.

It is still an amazement to me that Flynn was SUCH a highly-respected military intelligence officer and then became THIS – he made a deal for nuclear tech to Saudi Arabia ‘while’ he was on the platform at Trump’s Inauguration AND tried to arrange the kidnapping of that Turkish cleric – actual PIECE OF GARBAGE.

What I don’t get is that if he broke his plea deal with the Feds why his SON (who was in on all of this with his daddy) who was part of the deal for NON-prosecution has not been arrested.

Especially if he is living in a dumpster next to Trump’s dumpster.

Kudos for the catch. I think I’ve figured out why Flynn, who went from demigod status in the military to rubbing shoulder with kleptocrats, became enamored with the impunity of self-enrichment. Orban, Erdogan, Trump, Putin, Aliyev, and oligarchs of every stripe. Huffpost’s piece on our Gilded Age explains why a creature like Flynn makes sense in this alpha-predator food chain. Here’s a money quote.

Perhaps the greatest myth about white-collar crime is that Americans struggle to understand it—as if chemical companies toxifying rivers or insurance executives gouging their customers fail to stimulate our moral intuitions. In fact, surveys consistently show that the vast majority of the population considers white-collar crime more harmful than street crime and powerful offenders more odious than common criminals.

Those intuitions are correct: An entrenched, unfettered class of superpredators is wreaking havoc on American society. And in the process, they’ve broken the only systems capable of stopping them.

Flynn thinking Trump got away scot free, so how about me.

Flynn, who pleaded guilty more than two years ago to lying to the FBI about his Russian contacts.

Ironic.

Had Flynn pulled this crap in his beloved Russia — hiding secret deals with Americans from the Kremlin — Putin would have just whacked him years ago.

And his son.

Yes on dragging things out srfromgr. Peculiar situation. Compromised DoJ and Flynn’s mouthpiece both asking for delay. Compromised DoJ crying crocodile tears on behalf of Covington law firm.

Think Flynn strategy (with DoJ connivance) is to slow walk this think past November election in hope re-elected Trump will issue pre-emptive pardon

Does anyone believe for a second that DoJ prosecutors have a free hand from Barr and Oval Office on this?

He’s just gaming the system to keep out from behind bars as long as possible. (And now that Dump has learned he can do anything, that may be permanent.)

In court documents filed Sunday, prosecutors signaled they want to dig into Flynn’s claims that his original team of lawyers who negotiated the plea deal provided him with ineffective representation.

On the one hand, they could find that he got ineffective representation in protecting his son, so they should go back to Junior’s case. On the other, they could find that the plea deal he negotiated was so poor that they need to scrap it and add 15-20 years.

This:

I’m increasingly baffled by all of this, but I think may be Sidney Powell blinking. She agrees to the continuance claiming (without explaining that she has consulted with the government) that the basis for the government’s request has changed since they emailed and asked whether they were cool with a week-long delay … someone got through to Flynn and explained he was facing prison on this charge and perjury charges and implored him to withdraw his request to withdraw his plea.

Not sure why the DOJ is fucked. It sounds more to me like Flynn’s lawyers have painted themselves into a corner and all they have are smoke clouds. If DOJ gets the documents and witnesses (remember when those mattered?), they will show that both sides negotiated in good faith until Flynn decided to listen to the Faux News crowd.

SO DOJ should be OK, until LowBarr personally intervenes and puts his 5-year old nephew on the prosecution team.
