Law enforcement deputies will be stationed at five early voting sites in Florida, officials said, after two armed men dressed as security guards who, by some accounts, claimed they had been hired by the Trump campaign to provide security were seen at a campaign tent outside a polling station on Wednesday.
Sheriff confirms they were there legitimately for the Trump organization than dis-confirms but says itâs still no problem and the security firm head claims it was just an âoff-dutyâ employee who happened to be in the vicinity.
Right. /s
The only metaphor I can think of is what cockroaches do when the light gets turned on.
And how long was the âoff-dutyâ employee(s) there? Did they leave with someone who wasnât dressed in a polo shirt, khakis, and armed?
And what was this tent set up and being used for?
So, now the Sheriff is going to place UNIFORMED SHERIFFS at the polling places?
How is this any better? This is still intimidation.
It sounds to me like they just âgot caughtâ doing it with the private security firm, and now, to make their Republican Masters happy, they will just âdo it themselvesâ.
it is one thing when one of your local constables in a recognizable local uniform is just âon dutyâ at a public event - high school basketball game - town fair - polling place for election âŚ
It is entirely different when some unrecognizable stiff para-military strange is conducting rigid surveillance in a quasi hostile manner.

So, would an investigation reveal all these deputies have adorned their man caves with swastika flags, and their Facebook pages are filled with Proud Boys likes?
Excuse me if notice local police are being sent to âhelp protect meâ ring a bit hollow, especially were I a minority. Thereâs a better chance in the course of voting theyâll shoot you or taze you.
âTheir mere presence does not constitute voter coercion or intimidation,â the sheriff told the Times."
Intimidation, like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder. The generally accepted definition is to intentionally say or do something which would cause a person of ordinary sensibilities to be fearful of bodily harm. The presence of an armed, uniformed police officer should not, at least in theory, raise a fear of harm in the proverbial reasonable man. An armed yahoo, on the other hand, could easily have the opposite effect.
