Florida GOP ‘Fed Up’ With DeSantis’ Pre-2024 Agenda: ‘We’re Not The Party of Cancel Culture’

Hence we were stuck with Charlie Crist last election.

Wasn’t there recently something about the FL legislature changing the law so DeathSentence can run AND stay governor?? Another Nacht und Nebel action in the wee hours?

One might conclude that Ron DeSantis is a self-righteous, power hungry fascist.

DeSantis’ wife is trying desperately to channel Jackie Kennedy and is failing miserably. It is kinda pathetically funny.

“We’re not the party of cancel culture,” an anonymous GOP legislator told Politico. “We can’t keep doing this tit for tat.”

Oh piss off.

You were perfectly fine with it when the press stupidly looked at you guys and saw “serious conservatism,” or whatever it was that they liked in what you were doing down there. But now the newness has rubbed off, MAGA hates you and people are realizing you’re nothing more than a party of grievances, revenge and hatred.

They’ve also figured out your boss is a white booted, puddin’ fingered prick.

Too late to whine about it now, he’s what you wanted.

One might, and be correct, but it would be soo fabulous if he won the nomination. No Lardass to listen to, no media on their knee’s gesticulating over Lardass ( __________ brilliant). Push KMac to the curb, etc.

Exactly what I thought when I saw the pic!

Ain’t that the truth?

Just a sec–to misquote the late, great George Carlin, “where’s ‘tat’?!”

I mean, I always associate “tit for tat” to mean two (opposing) sides taking turns, "you get to do this and then I’m gonna do that".

But this is gerrymandered FL; Democrats aren’t getting to do jack squat!?! This “tit for tat” is between fascists and uberfascists!?! :flushed: :face_with_raised_eyebrow:  :face_vomiting: :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:

Boo f’n hoo. If they want to stop it, they can stop voting for all of these awful bills.

Yep, and the FL legislative regular session ends on May 5th. I think they only have this one sixty day regular session each year, so it’s getting very close to put up or shut up time for DeSantis. Maybe they could convene a special session later on, but I think we’ll know within two weeks if DeSantis is actually running or not.

I don’t think that Ron has the ability to run away faster than the kids who will be told that he killed all the Disney Princesses.

Really. Hold my beer…

Republicans are the OG cancel culture party. Their hit parade…
Presidential election results (representatives trying to ignore the results of the election).
Affordable health care (sabotage of Affordable Care Act)
Abortion.
Women’s rights.
LGBT rights.
Don’t say gay (FLA).
Obliterating line between state and religion.
Budweiser.
Covid. Ignoring, outlawing mask mandates.
Covid. Fight against Covid vaccines during a world wide pandemic. And still now.
Minimum wage.
Private business that counter Republican views (Disney versus Hobby Lobby).
Teaching black history accurately and honestly.
Voting. Fundamental rights… can’t receive a bottle of water in an election line (GA).
Voting. Voter registrations cancelled in huge numbers (party based).
Voting. ANYTHING that makes voting easier (mail in ballots, voting machines).
Voting. Gerrymandering.
Voting. Outlawing voting on campus.
Equal rights amendment.
Protests not for Republicans views.
…Oklahoma, bill to decriminalize driving into a crowd of protesters (and killing) if ‘fearful’ .
Clean air.
Clean water.
Public education.
Unions.
Taxes for the mega-rich.

I’m tired of typing. The list goes on and on.

I’ll hafta look this up on the google

As of 4/10/23 DeSantis would hafta resign to run for POTUS. That was the date the trump camp prodded Ron to shit or get off the pot.

Oh, he’s running. Lots and lots of official state business recently that requires him to visit primary states. I think the real question is, why hasn’t the lege done it already (repealed the resign-to-run law)? What are they haggling over?
